A super CD, shipped and received as new, as promised. What a great find!
Super music and wonderful liner notes. What a talent.
Release Date October 25, 1990
I've purchased this album several times. I had it in cassette, and an LP and now in CD. Jackson Browne is an incredible lyricist and musician. He really puts songs together in a very accessible and talented way.

Musically, this is mostly more of the same monotonous soft-rock, but it's a cut above standard Jackson fare off the strength of two of his finest songs: "Here Come Those Tears Again", a mature look at the typical "come-and-go" relationship (though it's sadly doused in sappy country backup vocals), and particularly the title track, a cynical attack on suburban values that I think is my favorite of Jackson's songs. "Your Bright Baby Blues" also could've fit with these songs if it weren't so longwinded. And there are a couple songs that move beyond the soft-rock: while "Linda Paloma" is an awful flamenco song dominated by harpsichord, I like the fusion of hard-rock guitar and horns found on "Daddy's Tune". And even the typical soft-rock tracks are at least modestly ... Read More:

This guy was a genius before he lost his mind and stayed angry forever when his guy wasnt elected president. This collection of didn't make its is one of the best ever, nearly as good as Van Morrisons. Too bad he wasn't decent enough to share some of his writing skills with needy artists, Nils Lofgren for instance sure could have used a hit or two. Instead Bruce gave his little buddy a job as 2nd guitarist in his wall of sound. This collection would be for most artists a greatest hits album to be proud of. I was just listening to Wild Innocent and E. St Shuffle, its SO good i can see why some of these songs didnt make it. Back then Bruce was a happy fun and very creative guy who really rocked, too bad his new stuff like "magic" is total GARBAGE, The recording sounds ... Read More:

Please note: the 'one-star' rating does is not intended as a reflection of the music itself. The single star is for this subpar, totally under-represented collection.
This was released originally back in 1976. There is no good reason for it to still be in print. Every track is available elsewhere with the exception of the 1971 charity single "Bangla Desh." Harrison is so far overdo for a good career-spanning Best Of that it isn't even funny. Each of the other former Beatles have excellent career retrospectives available.
More than half this collection is given over to Beatles songs. That leaves a paltry 6 solo songs, and nothing beyond 1976. George's solo discography is rich, varied, and consistently interesting. I can only hope that this ... Read More:

After experiencing a huge commercial comeback at the start of the decade with the "Ragged Glory" album, Young did another 360 and released what is essentially a sequel to his most popular album of the 70's "Harvest". Like the original, "Harvest Moon" is the folk, country Neil Young with him and his band using mostly acoustic instruments and arrangements. In fact the backing musicians and singers on "Harvest Moon" are many of the same that he used on the original "Harvest" album including Ken Buttery, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Nicolette Larson, and others. The album is very subdued and mellow. There are no "godfather of grunge" tunes to be found on this one. Highlights include "Unknown Legend", "From Hank To Hendrix", "Harvest Moon", "War Of Man", and the 10 minute ... Read More:

If you are lookin for an album with rockin tunes than this not the album to get. This is the type of album that makes it a risky move on an artist who just had a lot of hits on his previous record. He still had two top ten hits. Brilliant Disguise and the title track. A couple of the songs he does by himself. Aint Got You, My Happy Valentine, Cautious Man and One Step Up he does byself, well, One Step Up does have backup vocals by his future wife. It is also the last album he used the E Street Band untill the 2002 album The Rising. Me personally, This my favorite bruce album. The song WALK LIKE A MAN is a song about a long obsession with his father, Aint Got You self-consious look about being a rock star. ONE STEP UP, TWO FACES, BRILLIANT DISGUISE AND TUNNEL OF LOVE ARE ABOUT ... Read More:

Coming from Scotland , I'd never heard of John Hiatt before and discovered him by accident . I heard "Have a Little Faith in me" and was stunned and ordered his "Best of" and it's fantastic ! Now I had to find out that he wrote "Thing Called Love" and "Angel Eyes" and he sings them better than the well-known versions and his music is just great.
This guy rocks !

The sound is hardly audiophile quality and at times the rhymes are forced. On the other hand it is 1973 and this is Springsteen's first album. I challenge anyone to name another debut so full of top quality songs - each of the songs later covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Blinded by the Night, For You and Spirit in the Night would be a show-stopper on any other LP. In addition Springsteen gives us other great songs - Lost in the Flood, Growin' Up and It's Hard to be a Saint in the City. I think that this is a mind-blowing initial effort. It is one that clearly marked Springsteen as a talent to tab for the future.
Over the course of three decades Springsteen has veered this way and that, both musically and lyrically. There is a world of difference between Greetings and Born ... Read More:
