This DVD is well worth the $$$.
His band is actually pretty poor, especially the keyboard player and Christine Lakeland, but it really doesn't matter. You get a wonderful view of JJs life and times and what it's been like for him. You get a lot of his songs and 4 played in front of Midwestern audiances and several acoustic performances while he stands on a street corner in Tulsa. If you really admire JJ, it's worth the price. It's in 5.1 surround sound which is how I listen to it, and it ROCKS.

This album ranks right up there alongside her first album, Rumble Doll, which has become something of a cult classic and is my all-time favorite. Once again, Patti shows that she is an extremely gifted songwriter. There truly is no one better in my book. My favorites are Romeo, Love Stand Up, Chelsea Avenue, and Young in the City, but like Rumble Doll, there is not a dull song in the bunch. This is an album that can be listened to over and over again, from start to finish, without ever growing tired of it. I don't own many albums that I can say that about. Her voice is unique, maybe not beautiful in the conventional sense, but definitely fits extremely well with her songs. She gets bashed by a lot of Bruce fans for her singing, but don't ... Read More:

I know not many kids listen to this kind of music, but I've seen them 5 times, and they are goood! I reccomend any bodeans cd, especially "Joe Dirt Car," a double cased live cd of songs from '85 to '95. "Say about love" is a great song, and this version is cool, but I don't know if there is a video. All in all, pretty good material, even though it was released 20 years ago.
Also reccomended: ANYTHING BODEANS, blink 182, green day, barenaked ladies, hootie and the blowfish, john hiatt, Stevie Ray Vaughan, john mayer, weezer, the rippingtons, lyle lovett. Every genre is good!

Unbelievable! It is such a great album I do not know where to begin. Every song is a keeper! Some songs remind me how much I miss Bob Marley and I also hear a bit of early Police and even a trace of Paul Simon. In reality, I hate to compare to others though. I can not stop playing this CD and will probably have to buy another soon as this one will be worn out in no time. Just buy this CD. These guys have come of age with this CD. Amazing musicianship and catchy tunes and vocals. Can not recommend this album more highly!

Picked this CD out of the rack after not listening to it for years.
Los Lobos' Bertha interpretation is close to the original, but with a nice hint of accordion. Bruce Hornsby's Jack Straw is great, one can tell he played with the Dead many a time and I (for one ;-) think that he performed wonderfully with them over the years. Whatever you think of him, he can play piano.
Forget The Hashed Mellows' US Blues, what a disappointing straightforward rock-ish version that is. Elvis Costello's Ship of Fools is sort of interesting in the sense that he has some of Jerry's raspiness and I like the instrumentation.
Suzanne Vega's China Doll sounds like, well, a Vega tune, which isn't bad, but perhaps a bit dull. Happily ... Read More:

Neil Young got a lot of press in 2006 for doing a "protest album". It seems like Steve Earle's been doing it for the past decade.
Over the past 22 years, I've followed his personal ups and downs, seen him do some great shows and some "just okay" shows, but I have never been bored by any of his albums. This particular record is the one I always seem to go back to, because of the overall quality of the music and the really great lyrics.
From the opening, creepy whispers of "Ashes to Ashes", through the barely audible comments at the end of "Amerika V.6.0" (with some slightly borrowed Rolling Stones music), the backup vocals on "Conspiracy Theory", and the overall audacity of "John Walker's Blues", you know that this not an album of ... A must for anyone who enjoys contemorary folk, or folk rock music. You can get the album alone, or get it with a 35 minute video. I got both, and found the album very good . Of 12 songs, 7 i rate excellent, or good. These include " living in a city of Immigrants",Tennessee Blues, Sparkle &Shine,Jericho Road, and a teriffic duet with Allison Moorer,"Days aren't long enough". The video centers on NYC Greewich Village where he now lives. He walks and talks about Dylan, the Beats of the 50"s and his music. Live performances of Tenn Blues, City of Immigrants, and the beatiful Days aren't long enough, makes the 35 minutes pass quickly. If you like folk music you won"t be disapointed in Wash Square!

I gave this CD as a gift to a woman who's married name is Strong. She recently lost her beloved father, unexpectedly. I thought that shared grief would sooth her soul. She hasn't mentioned the gift. But as the giver it gave me great comfort.

Its just amazing that we are in the year 2008 and John Fogerty is still putting out fantastic music. Th new release, Revival sounds strong on the brief listens that I have given to date. However, the live recording The Long Road Home is just phenomenal.
There is an excellent mix of classic Creedence tunes and solo material. John varies the arrangements slightly from song to song. Some tunes are shortened some are lengthened. An all acoustic De Ja Vu All Over Again is very touching. I love the bouncy delightful Looking Out My Backdoor especially when substitutes tangerines and Elvis are singing with the band on the second bridge. I especially enjoy the banter John does between songs. It gives the CD a very intimate feel.

You will love this - probably one of the best collection of songs ever. One of the good things about Chris is that he always includes "Eye Candy" for the guys as well as doing his own bit for the ladies. Really cool videos to what must be some of the best songs ever recorded.
