When I first heard Kerosene Hat, it was on one side of a 90 min cassette recording a buddy made for me; the other side was of Cracker's Golden Age (another gem). This cassette didn't leave my deck until a few years later when I finally purchased the CD. Their cover of Jerry Garcia's Loser is brilliant - especially Johnny Hickman's great guitar. Speaking of Hickman (of whom I'm a huge fan), I could do without his one contribution to the album, "Lonesome Johnny Blues"; otherwise, a perfect album.

The Radiators are special band,I just got this over the weekend and can't get it out of the rotation. I can't give a full blown cut by cut review,
but I can say the grooves are great and the music is uplifting.
Rads, please go to the archives and gives us more!
I only give it 4 stars because I'm being picky, I would have wanted all live and some more extended workouts. But trust me, that is only my preference, this is a fine set and for the price you will be dancing many days to come.

Whenever other music starts getting on my nerves I can always put in a Chris Isaak CD and escape to something very good and different than what I normally like. Wicked Game is a great, well written and performed album and is one of my favorite by Isaak.

Picked this CD out of the rack after not listening to it for years.
Los Lobos' Bertha interpretation is close to the original, but with a nice hint of accordion. Bruce Hornsby's Jack Straw is great, one can tell he played with the Dead many a time and I (for one ;-) think that he performed wonderfully with them over the years. Whatever you think of him, he can play piano.
Forget The Hashed Mellows' US Blues, what a disappointing straightforward rock-ish version that is. Elvis Costello's Ship of Fools is sort of interesting in the sense that he has some of Jerry's raspiness and I like the instrumentation.
Suzanne Vega's China Doll sounds like, well, a Vega tune, which isn't bad, but perhaps a bit dull. ... Read More:

This is the most amazing DVD. After seeing them in concert recently and reading other reviews, I just had to try this DVD. Reminded me all over again how incredible these guys are live. In fact, we are having a party tonight with friends who are fans that want to see this DVD. We are not DVD buyers, we usually rent, but the few we have are concert DVDs and this one lives up to its reputation.
Release Date October 25, 1990
Had a copy of this album on *cassette tape* in the 90s; cannot wait to rip this CD to mu iPod now that it's arrived! Bought the Rock-a-bye colection of albums as lullaby song to play for our newborn that wouldn't drive mom and dad batty with saccharine sounds. This CD is better -- takes so many familiar and good Disney tunes and adds a mature sound that baby and parents can appreciate.

First, write a song which kinda puts you in the mindset of "Wicked Game," like "Can't Do A Thing (To Stop Me)." Then, put this complete piece of fluff on a regular album, which also has plenty of good songs on it. This album broke some new ground for Chris; a bit more spohisticated than the moody moping and borderline stalking we had grown to love. Really good tunes with a new dimension, e.g. "San Francisco Days," "Beautiful Homes." "Two Hearts," "Lonely With A Broken Heart," and a killer cover at the end.

This album is one of the best from the late 80's. I mean that's when the Olympics still meant something. Something changed with this world in the 90's and it went to hell in a handbasket. I mean you hardly ever hear of an Olympic album nowdays. "One Moment In Time" is a song that everyone can relate too. We all have had our one moment in time or we will have eventually. I was starting college back in Oklahoma in the late summer of 1988 when this album was released and it takes me wayyyyyyy back to a better time. Also, something a lot of people don't know about the song "Indestructible" by the Four Tops, is that this song was played at the end of the 1988 movie "Alien Nation". It is a great song as well and if you watch the movie it really gives you a good feeling inside ... Read More:

Like some others, I saw Escovedo and his band on Woodsongs, and Austin City Limits. Those performances are what I want to buy, not this album. The songs are worth 5 stars, but the production by Cale sucks. I bought the album, but I hope they put out the Austin City Limits performance - that was worth 5 stars!

I knew Joe Strummer in person long before I knew him.
I only come to realize who he was now.
He was a good man. (Choir sings Bob Dylan song: He was a friend of mine)
This is the saddest film of my friend that could possibly be made, and the best.
Okay, so he was not actually my friend. He was friend to all who met him and made everyone happy without distinction. I met him in 1987-1988 during the filming of the movie Walker. A kinder, more diplomatic, funnier man has never breathed.
In this film while seated on a sidewalk with a diverse group of teens, he is asked among other bizarre questions would he prefer to be a garbageman or a doorman. He chooses garbageman. Gets to hang off the back of a truck and see the city. ... Read More:
