They sound fantastic and are a must-have for any zeppelin fan. I've recently had
to start driving to work one day a week and these cds have made me look forward
to the ride (which is otherwise miserable).

This is the best place to start when it comes to Beck's solo work. The material is top grade (including Stevie Wonder compositions like "We've Ended as Lovers" and Beatles' "She's a woman), with great production by the legendary George Martin, a top notch band, and most of all: tasteful, brilliant guitar by Jeff Beck. Each and every track--yes all of them-- is a fusion/instrumental guitar classic. Those who play guitar have probably seen every track transcribed in a guitar mag at some point. It's hard to pick a highlight from such a monster album, but if I had to, I'd say the emotion drenched guitar on the superbly executed "We've ended as Lovers." I like this album for the most part, I own every recording by LZ (except some rare imports), including DVD versions and DVD-A (5.1). The second disc is recorded with reasonably good sound for that period. The first disc is MONO not stereo, which ruins it for me. Still a good purchase for any true Zepp fan.

Van Halen's classic album, filled up with plenty of risky and innovative guitar riffs (signed of course by, what else?, guitar virtuoso and experimental Eddie Van Halen) which defined the essence of hard rock sound during the 80's.

The subtle blend between hard rock and keyboards worked really well, just for this record and its era, keeping in mind the New Wave movement invaded almost everything then. Much more of it would become tedious...

Excellent vocals, amazing guitar riffs and a few hooking songs made this one of the decade's music exponent, still good enough to enjoy almost after thirty years. You remember back in the 70's when it seemed like side one of a record always contained the most memorable songs? Well in this case it's the second side that has the best songs, specifically the final three- the emotionally brilliant "Let it Grow" with its ending you don't want to EVER end, the funky and bluesy "Steady Rollin' Man", and the poppy goodness that is "Mainline Florida". People can take their "I Shot the Sheriff" but it's NOT the best song on the album. Remember- hit songs don't equal best songs. Never has and never will.

Absolutely love 80% of it. Favorites are 5:15 AM, Boom, like that, Song for Sonny Liston, Postcards from Paraguay and Don't crash the ambulance. Could do without the slower pieces, but I can listen to the whole CD once a day. So glad he does what he does. One CD every 18 months. Please keep it going, Mark. Would love to hear you do an entire CD with spanish guitar. Seems like you've mellowed over time and written better story songs, but your guitar riffs are what bring tears to my eyes. Wife is now a big fan and I'm working on the kids. They love your stuff too.

What can I say?? It's Stevie Ray... typical great guitar playing, Double Trouble is fantastic. My favorite is Scuttle Buttin'....really shows Stevie's talent on the guitar. Would reccommend this CD to anyone who loves the Blues!

This may be my all time favorite album, at least in the top 3. It's the one you'd chose to have it stranded on that desert island. It's perfect-what more can be said. Stevie was just hitting his peak-only the angels know what more outstanding stuff he could have blessed us with had he lived.
Stevie's own words say it best-
" Life without you....all the love you passed my way
The angels have waited for so long....now they have their way
Take your place...."
