I love this record. For my entertainment dollar (as Letterman might say),I think it's the best rockin' Elvis album since the '80s (trust, taking liberties, and imperial bedroom come to mind).

Granted we love the softer side of Elvis at my house, too, be it Kodak, work with Burt B., or North -- this album brings Elvis back to his punk/new wave roots. More recent rocking efforts have been interesting -- say, Delivery Man, All This Useless Beauty, and so on, but MOMOFUKU was a delightful suprising return to brighter days.

Thank you, Mr. MacManus, for continually reinventing yourself but also for celebrating a particular gift you have, too.

Purists have and will continue to argue this particular release into the ground with a host of complaints that range from "The audio mix is bad!" to "Lady Madonna was never number one on the charts!" But while it may come as deep shock to them, not every one approaches The Beatles as if they were holy relics, not everyone considers them "essential," and not every one feels it necessary to purchase every album the band made.

Quite obviously I tend to fall into this category. I like quite a few of The Beatles' recordings, but they never spoke me in a gotta-have-it way, and although I like "Come Together" I'm not going to buy ABBEY ROAD in order to obtain it. I was given this album as a gift three years ago and while it was new to me I immediately noticed that the lead vocalist had no idea of how to break away from singing very "clunkily" in syllables...to every song!!!
I haven't read all the reviews to this album (would take days) but wonder if he annoys anyone else as much as he annoys me?

This is a great album, it has almost all the good elements that have made the Counting Crows the most amazing rock 'n roll band in all time. I've really missed the deep Matt Malley's bass guitar. But, you can't have it all, right?

A lot has been written and spoken about "Rubber soul" It is basically The Beatles coming of age release. Their work takes on a more reflected and personal identity. They sound more mature in their singing, playing and songwriting. At no time though does this CD sound heavy handed or preachy. Some of the pop sheen is still present, but their melodies and subject matter have a very passionate feel to them. They were still writing in a "singles" (45's) mode and so most everything on the CD sounds like it could have been a hit single in 1965. For that matter probably could be a hit record these days too. Really the only true throwaway song on here is Ringo's "What goes on?" Everything else brims with worthy craftsmanship. Imagine how good this album would have been had they ... Read More:

I'm the type of fan that this compilation is meant for, to answer a prior posed question. I have OK Computer and In Rainbows, but no other Radiohead CDs. The music is great, and I heard songs that I liked from the past, but hadn't even registered in my head as being from Radiohead(such as Creep). This helps me catch up with the band.
Also...if you like this, you need to look out for Tom's brother's CD, coming out July 18. Andy Yorke fronted the band The Unbelievable Truth, and the couple of songs I've heard from the new release show that it promises to be outstanding. The solo CD will be called Simple.

It is a shame that marketing can make or brake an album. Madonna sells millions LAuper barely breaks top 40 and it is a better album. Rock on
