I love this cd for only a couple of songs, but these songs got so deep under my skin I cant go a day without listening to them,
Many Shades Of Black-Very atmospheric song the horns add great texture to the song, it's an instant classic. Jack White Is one of the greatest guitarists out right now, and he'll be in the rock hall of fame sooner or later and Brendan's voice flowed very nicely over the music suiting it very well.

You Dont Understand Me-Smooth,relaxing, love the piano!

Five On The Five-It's hard not to love this song it's hyperactive, how
can one person have so much talent Jack White? This guy can wail on the guitar and his pipes fit songs like they were tailored.

It's nice to enjoy an album that is just plain fun with great guitar and fantastic band playing perfectly with a singer with fascinating lyrics that sometimes make me laugh out loud. If you enjoy a touch of country mixed with a touch of rock and you have a free spirit, this one is truly for you. I particularly love "She Left Me for Jesus", the humor that glides through the song of a poor fellow whose girlfriend tells him she has become saved by Jesus with him confused is pure knock out funny. And a "Girl Downtown" about a simple boy meeting simply girl with plunking guitar is another fun one that is just entertaining fun that sounds great particular with backing vocals that sound like a mature Dolly Parton. I've seen zz Top 2 times live, in the 70's, & listened to their music all my life. This dvd is long overdue for zz Top fans. Don't even think about it twice, buy it. Except go to Walmart, I bought it there for $10. Best deal I ever got at Walmarts. Seriously it is a great concert, these guys prove why U try to keep all your band members in the band forever.

Though the singing is great and the instrumental pleasing throughout, this CD doesn't quite match the lofty standards set by his first two CDs.

But it is still a strong album and, after a few more listens, grew on me so much that it's now on constant rotation at my house. Highlights include "Listen," "Baby I want You," "What's Been Going On," and "Better Days."

Give it a try. It gratifies in a way most music cannot.

I bought this CD just knowing it would be good because the Bare Naked Ladies made it and it was even better than I expected. Each song is unique and wonderful. My daughter loves it and it's an all around family favorite. We even listen to it in the car when she isn't with us! Must have!
