I was six years old, almost seven when The Bee Gees released this double album. I had the two records, and I was wondering about the packaging--how would the record company reproduce it for compact disc? I was a bit disappointed. It's the same threefold that the vinyl was, showing Barry, Robin and Maurice in all their 70's glory. However, the glue holding the seams together for the cds made it too snug for removing the cds. In the end, the glue came apart leaving Barry and Maurice open on one side so that the cds could more easily be removed. Oh well. I did like the poster on the inside. I don't recall that being in the original double lp as a kid.
The music speaks for itself--platinum classics. The zenith of Bee Gee heaven. The ... Read More:

Just FYI, the version of "Walking After You" that most are familiar with is on the X Files soundtrack, not this one. But in truth, both versions are enjoyable.
While the remastering is subtle at best, this is a great buy at $7.99 (well, that's what it's listed at right now) even without the glorious bonus tracks.
"Baker Street" --- I can't decide which I like better; Foo Fighters cover (Faster tempo, guitar solo, coke instead of booze. Heh.) or the Gerry Rafferty (Poignant sax solo, sense of great space). I can listen to both back to back & never be able to choose.
If you don't already have this remastered version or the original, you should get it simply for the fact that "Everlong" is one of ... Read More:

They have a folksy sound and they know how to make you want to listen. Very good music. They're not the Beatles, but then who is. It's well worth the money.

Overall, this is an enjoyable set. The only problem I have is the format of the two CDs. One disk seems to have only slow "love" song ballads, and the other disk has the more quick tempo hits. It would have been nice to mix them up a bit.

Dr. John's work is always interesting, meaningful and down right great, but this a tribute to the City and People of New Orleans that will give you a chill and make you shake your head "yes" in agreement with his words, and tunes. Thank you, sir.

Blackmore's Night has carved out a pretty decent specialty niche...call it "Renaissance Rock". There are other groups who try to do this type of music, but most of them lack the sheer unadulterated talent that Ritchie Blackmore and Candace Night bring to the table.
This CD is great. It's not as good as "Fires At Midnight", but it's better than "Village Lanterne" and "Ghost Of a Rose".
My favorite tracks on this CD are "Locked Within the Crystal Ball" and "Sister Gypsy".
My niece says she wants to be Candace Night when she grows up (smile)!

If you've spent any time burning your own audio CDs (i.e. "Redbook" CDs as they are known in optical media world), then you probably quickly figured out that all 26 tracks will easily fit on one standard CD-R (or, if you know your blank CDs, that'll be a Taiyo Yuden!).
So, why are we "given" two CDs? Easy? So the record company can charge $23 instead of $13.
Of course, the label's reason (read: pandering excuse) is that they are being "faithful to the original release." Since when are COMPILATIONS considered to be "original releases"?? Even classic packages such as Marley's "Legend" merely cherry pick the best (and best-selling) songs from his albums--just as every other "Greatest Hits" or "Best of" disc does.

here it is all steves best in one small package.until now if you wanted his hits you'd have to buy multiple collections, but its has finally been put into one great cd everything from 1968 to 2003.sure their are a couple of fan favorites left off including "true fine love" which is a glaring omission, but nonetheless if you only want one cd from the steve miller band you cant do better.

I have heard all the songs on Insomniac and Dookie and loved them. When I got this I was expecting kind of the same music but got totaly different and I like it.They kinda got away from their punk roots but that's fine by me.I love all the songs on here. The only song that I could live without was Rock and Roll Girlfriend segment on Homecoming. My personal favorite song on the album was either Holiday or Saint Jimmy. The lyrics are sometimes hard to understand because of his accent but you can always go on google to see what they are.The guitar, drum, and backup singers all are very talented and do a fantastic job.Recommended to any Green Day fan.
