Pretty good cd. My fav songs are Hammerhead and You're Gonna Go Far Kid. Not something that can be listened to over and over but for something to listen to every now and then its good.

I was inspired to buy this CD because of my brother. He would call me on the phone just excited to be alive after hearing John's music. Mind you, he is a successful business guy who grew up listening to the Stones, Black Sabbath and good old Rock n Roll, but for some reason the sounds of John Denver called and he answered. Now, so have I. After hearing " I'm Leavin On a Jet Plane..don't know when I'll be back again" I was sucked in and I felt my spirits lift.

John Denver's soft and light lyrics continue to dance in our hearts and lift our moods. This CD has all great hits that we remember. Sunshine on my shoulders (makes me happy), Annies song, Calypso, Fly away...you won't go wrong with this collection of John Denver's greats. ... Read More:

Having been a huge fan of her early music, I am deeply disappointed and saddened with her latest release. She seems to have surrendered to mainstream pop music, with far too many superficial influences in her new 'music'. Though angst can and does evolve and people grow and mature with time and their music will reflect their evolution, it is far different from 'changing' to be something her soul clearly does not reflect.I have always loved her rawness, her insightful lyrics, her basic instruments, WITHOUT the synthesizers and club sounding beats she has now embraced. I've been a fan of Richie Blackmore going back to his Deep Purple and Rainbow days and quickly took a liking to his music in Blackmore's Night. Richie and Candace do not disappoint on this album at all. I was a bit hesitant about Rainbow Eyes, with it being a remake from Richie's Rainbow days. However, Candace did well on it and Richie's guitar work was nothing short of stupendous. I especially love the song Locked Within the Crystal Ball as there are great vocals on it and Richie's usual outstanding guitar work. If you are a new fan, or a "returning" fan of Blackmore's Night, this album will not disappoint you. A definite two thumbs up from me.

The title of this album is now ironic. When I listen to it I can remember the sweet smell of smoke as an 8 track cranked out music and pick-up trucks and cars formed a lazy half circle around a small fire. Leafs crunched and cracked under our feet and in the night air a few wore jeans jackets and some wore plaid wool shirts but all wore Levi's and sneakers. A silver keg had many many friends and clusters of laughter would roll from one group to the next. We shared the laughs and we shared the beer and the weed. Opinions were so clear. Here is the Carly Simon we grew up with singing the songs she did best. Each one is a gem and well mixed for effective listening in today's market. Two Hot Girls on a Hot Summer Night never received the glory of You're So Vain, Mocking Bird, That's the Way I always Thought it Would Be, or Anticipation, but is a wonderful addition to this CD. Kudos!!! Carly fans, BUY IT!

have contacted amazon about this but have had no reply from them

The review title says it all. I count myself extremely fortunate that I stumbled across this record by accident. It was the happiest accident I've had in years.

A beautiful voice, sometimes quirky tunes, and the amazingly lush arrangements by Van Dyke Parks.

I can't stress enough how delighted I am with this record. The orchestral arrangements are so beautiful I could even listen to the record without the vocals and still be taken by it.

No, you don't have to be a fan of this-or-that type of music to enjoy it. Rather, you just have to have a sense of and appreciation for the carefree whimsy of songwriting and music in general.

I received this in the mail a couple of weeks ago after prepaying months ago. I just got a chance to open and listen to it and I am so happy with this package. I don't care if it cost $[...], I would have paid it. Of course, I'm a huge Bowie fan, and particularly a fan of his Spiders days. The show itself is killer. The lack of crowd noise on this recording makes it seem more intimate. The sound quality is awesome. This show is so full of energy, and this is just a recording! Imagine what it must have been like to have actually been in the audience. If only I wasn't 2 years old in 1972. :-) Mick Ronson is one of my all time guitar heroes. He rips during this performance.
