this cd has almost everything you could want from a J.T. best of, however the sound is extremely loud...almost unplayable, if you spin it for longer than 20 minutes, you will have a headache and frayed nerves....I had to get rid of mine for that reason; also, the swearing in "steamroller blues" is edited, what the hell for?

This is the first Gaelic Storm CD I have purchased and I can definitely say it won't be my last. I was smiling the whole way to work in the car today! And work wasn't the reason. The music was!! The songs are fun, upbeat. The music is great. I love Irish music and the twist that they add makes it more entertaining than ever. You won't be dissapointed. I am sure this is only the begining of my collection.

I take that back: a must watch, period! This music DVD contains 2 discs with material recorded during the band's 2006 homecoming tour through Iceland. Particularly special about it are the intimate (at times, unplugged) performances the band did for their fellow countrymen and women for free. Complementing these are some incredibly powerful (as in LOUD, get-off-your-seat-for-once) performances from their first four albums that are bound to have you give them all the respect they've earned as one of the best musical acts in the world today.
The first disc is peppered with interviews that give you an insider's view of the band and how they work together, their feelings about home and stardom and life at large. The second disc contains ... Read More:

I was inspired to buy this CD because of my brother. He would call me on the phone just excited to be alive after hearing John's music. Mind you, he is a successful business guy who grew up listening to the Stones, Black Sabbath and good old Rock n Roll, but for some reason the sounds of John Denver called and he answered. Now, so have I. After hearing " I'm Leavin On a Jet Plane..don't know when I'll be back again" I was sucked in and I felt my spirits lift.
John Denver's soft and light lyrics continue to dance in our hearts and lift our moods. This CD has all great hits that we remember. Sunshine on my shoulders (makes me happy), Annies song, Calypso, Fly away...you won't go wrong with this collection of John Denver's greats. ... Read More:

I've been a fan of the Black Keys for quite a while now, and I've gotta say: this new album is the best thing I've heard in a long time. The Black Keys for me have always held a certain tone and quality that always seems familiar in the back of my mind, and this is just the next step forward. Some of the lyrics get a little repetitious but its easy to look over that fact with the quality of music these two dudes make. Please give it a try- you'll thank yourself.

I love her music! It's mellow acoustic guitar and she has such a beautiful and sexy voice. I don't know what she's saying but i LOVE the way she says it!!!

The band shows they can still play, the picture and sound quality are very good. I highly recomend this dvd to anyone that has an HD music collection.

Ingrid Mishaelson has been, as noted above, featured in Old Navy Commercials, and those emotionally drenched scenes on Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill. The New York based artist has a rather quirky feel to her music and on ocassions the festive lilt of the campfire chanteuse. Her songs are suffused by a poetic tension, and the lyricism is always smart and intuitive. She deftly applies caesuras, alliterations and the whole gamut of poetic devices. She was born in an artistic family, her dad Carl, a composer and her mom, Elizabeth Egbert, is the Director of the Staten Island Museum. Her trepidation and soulful plaintive dramatizations are offset by a brilliant wit that nourishes the strife with elusive bounds of genius. She sounds like Regina Spektor without ... Read More:

Dr. John is to New Orleans is what Willie Nelson is to Austin, TX and heartland causes. Anytime someone's in need these two guys are putting themselves out there singing their hearts out for the causes they believe in. Of course, Willie's on this CD, so's Slowhand, Ani DiFranco, and Terence Simien.
"City that Care Forgot" isn't just a statement, though. You can tell when you're listening to this that the folks performing had a good time putting heart and soul into these songs.
I usually have a favorite song or two. Hands down, for me, it's "You Might Be Surprised." The lyrics really spoke to me:
"Life is a near death experience
Hell is right here on this great big Earth
It could be a little taste of heaven ... Read More:
