This latest album from the Italian rock group Litfiba is one of their most listenable to date. Their melodies are more mellow, Pelù is more restrained. The opening song: Il mio corpo che cambia (my changing body) is very memorable, as is another hit from the album: Vivere il mio tempo (To live my time). There is even a song mostly in English: Sexy dream. If you've never heard of Litfiba, this album is a pleasant start to becoming a fan.

Can't really add anything not mentioned in Aquarius's (superior) review,but wanted to at least "second" the notion: this is excellent stuff! I think I prefer this over the also excellent Bunalim release!
This has me craving more!!

"Famille Nombreuse" is my favorite Les Negresses Vertes album, but all of their work is amazing and worth seeking out. Still, if you're new to Les Negresses Vertes, this is a great place to start.
I found out about Les Negresses Vertes in December, 1991, when I visited family in Germany for the Christmas holidays. My brother-in-law had the vinyl album version of "Famille Nombreuse" playing in the background during our late night card playing/video game sessions, and the music just sort of took me away. I do not speak or understand French, but that didn't matter at all: the music was what I responded to. It was new, fresh and exciting. Still sounds like Les Rita Mitsouko, but they've lost some of that silly pop sound, so this effort sounds much more mature and listenable. I liked the early albums, too, but don't play them so much anymore. This one is contemporary and I'm currently enjoying it a lot!

I came to Louise Attaque via some tracks from Gaetan Roussel's side project Tarmac, via the compilation album "so Frenchy, So Chic". Electric fiddle features prominently, and there are folk-rock, and occasionaly C&W, overtones, but not in a twee way. The sounds are strong, clear and rocky. The ballads are powerful and well crafted. The orhcestration is sophisticated and although there is a 'sound' that is Louise Attaque, nothing feels repetitive. Think Cockney Rebel, think Waterboys (both early and late), think Pearl Jam, mix them together and you'll come close to the Lousie Attaque sound on Comme on a Dit. Excellent album. This cd is a magnificent exposition of the true talent of European musical artists. I partly understand the French language, and the lyrical content combined with the driving music is really touching and heart wrenching at times. Songs like "Si Seulement Je Pouvais Lui Manqer", "Il Bat", and "Qui Parlait" stand out as songs that can really place you in a different mood. I recommend any music by Calogero for not only its depth in spoken artistry, but also beautiful music. I only wish that I could give a 6 Star rating.

Was never even aware of this twenty track import title until here recently.Cuts here are apparently from all eras of the Brazilian pyschedelic trio that looks be be from 1968-77.Too bad vocalist Rita Lee had left them in 1972.Some really nifty tunes here,like "Ando Meio Desligado","Dois Mil E Um","El Justiceiro" and the lengthiest cut "Ae oZ" which clocks in at eight minutes.Nothing to worship here,but nice to give a spin from time to time.Might appeal to some fans of Love,Spectrum,early Beatles and El Tri.
