I have enjoyed Toby Keith's music for at least 12 year, maybe more. He sings wonderful songs with a lot of feeling whether it is a slow ballard or an upbeat song. I really liked all the songs on this CD and enjoy all of his work.

Prime Cuts: I've Been Down Some Road, Old Porch Swing, To Life
When Nashville's critic Robert Oermann wrote in the sleeve notes: "Cherish this music and cherish this man. We will not see his like again." Indeed, those words were prophetic as Arnold just passed away just before he hit 90 years of age. Arnold is country music's juggernaut--his career spans for more than seven decades totaling a staggering 67 top 10 hits selling over 85 million records over his lifetime. In fact, Billboard has deservingly named Arnold the no. 1 country star of all time. "After All These Years," Arnold's last studio CD recorded in 2005, is presumably his 100th album. Helmed by Jack Clement and Jim Malloy this autumnal effort finds a warm, unassuming ... Read More:

We saw this special on PBS and I was so happy to see that we didn't miss out purchasing the DVD! (I thought you could only get it via donation!) This special was something we stumbled upon, but enjoyed immensely. From one performer to the next, we were saying "Oh my goodness, I remember him/her/them!!" :) It's a nostalgic trip with some of the greatest country performers and retrospectives of the ones who have passed on. It's a great family special. The whole reason I wanted the DVD was to share it with my Mom and Father-in-law! It will be enjoyed by the whole family, for sure!

This is one of the best CDs of any Kind that I have ever owned. I am really speaking of the tape that I bought of this when it came out. I think I had one of the great evenings of my entire life the second or third time I listened to this on one evening in 1983 or 1984 beside a little lake where I lived in Opa Locka Florida, at a time when i thought things were pretty bad for me, but just listening to this music and these words hit the spot.
In justice to Haggard, this music was recorded more than 22 years ago. Some of the players in the great touring and studio bands that he put together during the late 1970s and the early 1980s are no longer living or have retired from music.
There is something so powerfully romantic about "The Red ... Read More:

This forty one song Collector's Choice two disc compilation is a winner from the Sheriff,Faron Young singing all his Capitol Hits, and brother is this a good one,I don't know if this is his best, but I have no desire to look around for another,as you listen to Faron singing Willie Nelson's,Hello Walls,Don Gibson's,Sweet Dreams,or Tommy Collins',If You Ain't Lovin' (You Ain't Livin')and there's other notable songs on here such as,Down By The River,Goin' Steady,Back Track and Country Girl, nobody does'em like the Sheriff,Faron Young, this is a collector's item worthy of any country collection.

The Derailers doing a Buck Owens tribute was as likely-- and as welcome--as kd lang doing a Patsy Kline tribute. The influence of Bakersfield on the Derailers has been evident since their first album in the mid-nineties.
"Under the Influence of Buck" is comprised of twelve Buck Owens originals and, to round out the baker's dozen, "Johnny B. Goode," a tune that Owens frequently covered.
The Derailers take no liberties with Owens' music and they offer nothing new in the way of interpretation. This is as earnest and straight-ahead a tribute as you'll find, a literal reading of the Buck Owens setlist. But whatever the Derailers intentionally lack in innovation and interpretation, they more than compensate for in enthusiasm, spirit and exceptional ... Read More:

This is a good set of rowdy songs, with classics by Waylon, Willie, Jessi Colter and the boys, as well as a slew of other folks feudin' like the Hatfields and McCoys... The songs are generally high-calibre, but I agree with other reviews that this collection really stretches its credibility by calling them all "outlaw country" when indeed a hefty chunk of the playlist is really made up of Southern rock and redneck boogie tunes -- Marshall Tucker's "Can't You See", Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' With Disaster" and the Georgia Satellite's "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" are prime examples of Top 40 rock songs that are dubious inclusions in a "country" collection. In the 1970s, the longhairs who were into Willie Nelson might have also been rockin' out to Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, ... Read More:
