The Texas Torenados are a super group, no doubt, and the essence of
conjunto tex-mex music. Most of their CD's deserve and have been given'
5 stars by me but this one is less attractive excluding the two solo
songs by Freddy Fender "Tus Mentiras" and "Trying" which are great great
great recordings and are worth the purchase of this CD. This guy was such
a wonderful artist both in English and Spanish that still today I keep
on purchasing all that's still coming out on the market both on CD and
DVD.
Release Date September 10, 1991
So far I've rated many Texas Tornados albums and mostly with 5 stars
because they are just incredible. The Southern "gringo" stars Doug
Sahm and Agie Meyers together with "Tex Mex" greatest interpreters
Freddy Fender and Flaco Jimenez created this "conjunto" supergroup.
Every record released by them between 1990 and 1996 is an ode to
all styles of music: blues, country, rock, tex mex, mexican folclore
etc. This particular "Zone Of Our Own" is the best example of all this.
It holds 10 songs and almost 10 styles of music!
If you still don't have this CD, get it while it's still available

Originally released in 1964 on vinyl this a classic grouping of the fiery Amalia Mendoza and El Rey, Jose Alfredo. I immediatley purschased this when I saw it available again on compact disc. There are many reasons to include this CD in your collection. If you're a fan of Jose Alfredo or Amalia Mendoza than that should be reason enough, that they are both featured together is a magical moment to not be missed. Whether you are discovering or rediscovering the songs of Mexico this is truly a clasic pairing and recording. The songs are beautiful numbers where they either sing a duet or alternate solos. The duets are mixed with clarity and proportionally impeccable, each voice blending to create one new voice, Amalia y Jose Alfredo. Since the Mariachi ... Read More:

If you've heard Marco Antonio Solis' songs before and liked them, then you'll definitely enjoy this product. It has some of his best songs like "O me voy o te vas", "La venia bendita", "Si no te hubieras ido", "Si te pudiera mentir", and "En mi viejo San Juan". All the songs were composed by him, I believe, except for "en mi viejo san juan". Some of his other hit songs are featured in the second volume of La Historia continua.
The label company indicates (on the front cover) that the songs were remastered of re-recorded "Studio" songs from the original singer (i.e., Freddy Fender). Therefore, you know that you are not dealing with the original songs and we will be hoping that the songs were recorded at the studio as indicated by the label company. Unfortunately, the songs are live remakes and not studio remakes as stated. The sound is not great but it is not bad either for a "Live" performance, however you cannot compare it to the original studio recorded from the MCA label.
I recommend the "20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: Best Of Freddy Fender by the MCA label or "The Best of Freddy Fender" by MCA label again.

Wow, this is an excellent example of Mexican Ranchera music. Only Juan Gabriel could've put together such a fantastic roster of Mexican talent. While the Tres Senoras are clearly past their prime on this recording (Lola Beltran passed away after the recording), they still shine and remind us why they make their country proud. Viva Mexico! Y Viva Las Tres Senoras!

What can I say, Marco Antonio Solis is the best, and this Cd and DVD are excellent. I don't speak Spanish and I understand very little, It doesn't matter, there is no greater voice on Earth !!! ( or music all composed by Marco) I hope he come back to Utah again, I went to his concert last year, a memory of a lifetime.
