Although I think volume one better overall, this one gets marks for exclusive remixes of artists like Softcell, Whitney Houston and Pink. But overall, the remixes and remakes on volume one are better. This one becomes very commercial and routine. These are not beat mixed, and all full length extended remixes on 2 discs. pretty hot.

All this song does is rehash that one line from New Order's BLUE MONDAY "how does it feel?" and bases a song out of it. Sure there are a few other elements added from BLUE MONDAY along with new stuff like a straight house beat and house piano. That being said the song isn't quite so bad. A bit redundant, but not bad.

The first two tracks are just the long and short version of the song. The last two tracks (6am Sunrise and Tour De France] add elements of Kraftwerk's TOUR DE FRANCE to the mix; namely the breathing noises and drum beats. 6am is ... Read More:

Either the tracklisting is wrong for the "this is rave vol 1" cd or this one.The track in question is track 1 on the first and second cd.I think house junkies is on cd 2 as the first track.


I haven't bought this cd but there are quite a few similarities to the "this is rave vol 1" cd regarding specific songs. This album is lucky enough to have real hardcore on it.Real hardcore is not happy and its not dark and evil.Its just trippy and ravey.

I am a Shamen fan, but this album was a complete disappointment. The music seemed weak, lyrics rather weak, and production quality not as good as it could have been. I just can't figure out what happened. It sounds like a different group. Even as a concept album, there is nothing novel to this album so that doesn't explain it either. I feel like I got suckered into buying this album because so many other people gave it high marks. Don't make the same mistake I did. You can skip this album even if you're a die hard Shamen fan.

I own four of the Plastic Compilation series, & this is (to date) the most disappointing. The Fatboy Slim is both lame & pointless, the Hybrid piece never gets off the starting line, and the Tiesto remix of "Sweet Surrender" isn't up to his past work.

That said, "The All The All" (Lo Fidelity All Stars) almost carries the disc by itself, & bears repeated close listening -- and excessive dancing (ensuring that my coworkers remember I'm both insane & spastic, but wtf...).

Considering the surfeit of lousy compilation CDs in the world, this is hardly among the worst. It's worth the price, but just barely.

if that's what i had to listen to, i wouldn't go out afterdark. i haven't collected all in the series and london and paris were actually bought after some of the more recently released cd's. i've been reluctant to buy any of the latest releases for fear of wasting my money. that's how bad i think london was.
