I own every one of the Dance Mix USA collection and this snapshot of the dance music scene in 1996 is excellent. I've been lisening to this CD regularly since it was released and I never get tired of it. Rhythm of the Night, Tonight is the Night and Another Night are the SUPER TRACKS on this disk.
Release Date March 09, 1993
I got this CD when it first came out back around '91 and loved almost every single song! There is no tecno I have found in recent years that even comes close to how cool these songs are! The only bad things are that this CD is out of print and that the group never released any other albums. It was one of those CDs I could never get tired of, and I have missed it ever since I let a friend borrow it and then lost track of that friend. These songs hold great memories for me. This is what tecno music should be. If you love old school forgotten classics like I do, I suggest you do whatever you have to do to get this album for yourself.

I first heard this cd when I was dancing in a strip club in L.A. Traci Lords is yes the porn star who made headlines with her underagescandal in the 80's. According to her biography, this cd did very well when it came out in the early 90's. It has a number of really great songs including Fallen Angel and Control, which were the singles released of the album. Traci Lords is just sexy anyways you want to spin it and this cd is no joke. A lot of the songs were produced by Juno Reactor, who also had a lot of big hits in the early rave years. I thought maybe this cd would be a little cheesy, but it wasn't whatsoever and there are even a few nice downtempo tracks as well as the harder techno versions. Her voice and lyrics are very sexy and strong. It's a shame she ... Read More:

The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (The Jams) formed in 1987. The tracks on this CD are taken from their various early singles and LPs. The group also recorded as The Timelords, KLF and 2K. The Jams were a sample crazed production team that took sampling to the extreme. They made a lot of really interesting music sampling anything they felt like sampling. Consequently, they got sued a lot. Anyway, this is a really fun CD that features some of their work that they got permission to release, including their first real hit "Doctorin' the Tardis". If you like that song, you'll probably like the rest of the CD. It even incudes a Christmas song, "Downtown", and a New Years song, "Burn the Beat".

The Prodigy's first three albums are all techno classics. "Experience" is their first album released in 1992. It features all of their hits from that year which was a watershed year for rave music. The music is frenetic, uptempo, hard, and relentless. There is clearly a punk rock influence with these guys and they use it to create a unique style of techno music. This is great to listen to while working out, driving, and dancing (of course!). The second disc is a collection of remixes and b-sides and it is almost as good as the first disc. Fans of The Prodigy should pick this up along with "Music for The Jilted Generation" and "Fat of the Land" because they are all essential.

Despite the ghetto cover, this album is ill. Perfectly mixed rolling jungle breaks - the real deal, none of this Roni Size Reprazent crap. This is one of the first jungle CDs I ever owned and still one of the best. If only all jungle parties sounded this good...

This is the definitive dance tune from the 90's. Every Saturday night inside Carmen's at Miranda the DJ would play this hit and each time it would play I'd saunter up to him asking what the name of it was. Due to my drunken demeanour I'd forget and have to repeat the process week after week until he wrote it on a coaster for me. As hard as I tried to track it down I couldn't owing to it's blacklisting due to copyright arguments. "Excalibur" provided a fine mix but it just wasn't Apotheosis excellence. I finally was able to download it by visiting limewire.

The Utah Saints clearly have a lot of talent, but they fail to utilize it in "Two". The track "Three Simple Words" especially proves that when they try hard enough they can create a GREAT song (this track is one of my favorite electronica songs ever). Unfortunately the rest of the album is noticably worse than this song, though a few good songs are scattered about. Their biggest downfall is when they have a good sounding song and either add in a voice sample that messes it up or when they let a song run on for too long ("Massive" for the first example and "Power To The Beats" for the second one). If they had gotten rid of the voice sample and shortened the other song then they would've been much better. For 15 tracks, the album is, on a whole, not that good. It's not "horrible", ... This is the best sounding 2 Unlimited cd I have of them. It being remastered sound great vs their" Hits Unlimited" cd. You can really tell the difference. The songs sound more rich.
2 Unlimited biggest hit song in euro "No Limit", on this cd is the "No Rap edit" (3.15) that was on the UK, Germany and most of euro cd single. So if you want this version, this is the cd to get.
All the other songs have Ray rap in them.
No inside book or anything.
This cd is just like the cd "The Complete History" BUT it has much better sound.
