Essential for die-hard 2 Unlimited fans. Everyone else, get Hits Unlimited and you'll have what you need to get everyone at the party back on their feet. The vocalists can be exchanged with any 90's dance-rapper and hot chick - it's the high-energy hooks from the "2" in 2 Unlimited that keep this CD in the rotation.

While other volumes of the xtreme mixes were more club oriented, this one is a totally mainstream party disc, and as a result, suffers from the typical problem of having too many tracks jammed onto one disc and giving us short versions of huge club tracks, except 6 minutes of the overplayed "rapture". And then there's the space wasting megamix that could have been better used for longer version of the other tracks on here that are nearly impossible to get on CD, like the Mike Rizzo mixes of Digital Allies and Debelah Morgan. Surprisingly, the Kosheen version of "Hide U" is used instead of the Suzanne Palmer version, the Ford mix of Nicole McCloud is used instead of the more popular Dezrok mix, and Digital Allies first club track "Without You" ... True to its name, this band's music takes you on a voyage, a journey through exotic lands and across musical boundaries. Lose yourself in a picaresque progression that juxtaposes evil and good, idealism and pragmatism, joy and sorrow.
Voyager employs a plethora of esoteric styles and moods to transport its listeners through a mysterious universe that both welcomes and threatens. The music is multi-layered and rich, the lyrics truly poetical, the vocals engaging.
I'm not sure how to categorise Voyager's music -- perhaps it defies definition. Melodic? Exotic? Prog rockic? Heavy metallic? Fantastic?

This CD contains the truly classic artists of underground ACID scene.I did not put 5 stars only because of one reason.I can't understand what the hell 'AGE OF LOVE' is doing in this compilation.(??) Even if Jam & Spoon used the TB303 for their remix, they did it on a minimal level.Ok,maybe it is still Acid but it hardly could be CLASSIC ACID.Fortunatelly,it is the only track that sux.The rest of the songs are awesome!!The best tracks are 'Energy Flash','Access','Positive Education','Higher state of...' and 'Circus Bells'.They sure show the huge potential of 303 Bass-line.In fact, this compilation is an excellent example of what Acid style stands for.

Featuring some exclusive remixes, this mix is a good choice for dance collectors, especially since most tracks run more than 6 minutes.
Things start off on the right foot with an energetic electro house stomper by Fallen Angel, with an alternatve sounding female vocal. HOT. This segues into another slammin track in the same style by Deux. That's why the third track, an instrumental which samples the ultimate Todd Terry classic doesn't work for me--SO dated sounding. But that's okay, because the peak hour diva anthems begin with Offer Nissim, followed by only 4 minutes of a Vernessa Mitchell slammer! The huge Deborah Cox hit also gets only 5 minutes, but you can get a longer version on other compilations. Debby Holiday can do no wrong ... Read More:

I had heard Outlander's "The Vamp" before, and couldn't find it anywhere else, so I found it buried in the "Various Artists" section of the Techno shelf and bought it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the disc. Sure, it all sounds dated (what do you expect by a CD subtitled "Classic to the Core"???) but there are some truly good songs that aren't cheesy and outdated. Joey Beltram's "Energy Flash" is a great song, subtle yet intense at the same time. "The Vamp" is very catchy in the way it builds, and "Roll It Up/Let's Do It" is just great in its raw energy. But the two highlights of the disc are Genaside II's "Narra Mine" (far, far better than the Armand Van Helden ... Read More:
