Cool Kids inital EP release is a breath of creativity. With pop princesses and sound alike bands taking over music these days, it's nice to find a group that sets themselves apart. The timing of creativity couldn't be better.
Overall, "Bake Sale" is masterfully written rhymes put together with some nicely creative beats - all in a retro-style hip-hop package. "Black Mags" has been out for some time and the accompanying music video made the listener curious as to exactly where this duo may be heading. The rest of the album falls in line. Every song is unique and no "fillers" added. The 10 song EP is just what an album should be.
If you get a chance to explore some popular ... Read More:

This is definitely in my top 5 rap albums ever. The entire cd is solid all way through. Lupe's lyricism, wordplay, and storytelling make me listen to this album over and over, which is something I usually can't do with a cd. Although I gave the album 5 stars, there were a few things I didn't like, which don't affect the rating much: the intro track would've been cooler with a verse, and I didn't care for the American Terrorist song much. I can see why people would like that song, though, it's just not my kind of song. Also, the outro track is tiring; it's cool if you knew Lupe and you are listening to hear him shout your name, but otherwise, this last track is just skippable - or just don't put it on your iPod to save space. Otherwise, the other 13 ... Read More:

I'm not gonna bash Pac or rap in this like most of the other folks did but I will give you a genuine review...whereas the songs are good on this album they lack the beauty of smile...Until The End Of Time etc etc...now I gave this a one specifically for that reason...to this day smile is played on MTV...be it Scarface or not Pac was in it...anyways...due to lacking them songs it was weak...it seemed slapped together

When examining the over-the-top gangsta posturing of mainstream hip-hop in the past 15 years, it's easy to see why some cats neglect to pay homage to one of the golden age's finest. This album single-handedly popularized hip-hop in all aspects of mainstream music, as it was the first #1 album in hip-hop history. Rick Rubin's uncanny mix of old school party beats over highly memorable rock samples is one of the most copied formulas in hip-hop history. It stands as some of Rubin's most memorable and excellent production ever. The production isn't the only reason this album was as wildly successful as it was. King Ad-Rock, MCA, and Mike D were three of the most relatable emcee's in history. They were a tight-knit crew of white party-loving fratboy-type dudes ... Read More:

T-Pain. This is exactly the type of hip-hop that making what was once a creative and fun genere, into a lousy and laughable mess. There is nothing creative at all about this artist, and he sounds no different then the any of other rappers from the south. First off, Southern hip-hop is not for everyone, as it does have a bit more of a unique sound, but the problem with it is that most of the artist have such a simlilar delivery that makes it hard to figure out a whos who. The huge problem that I have with T-Pain is when he mixes in his so-called slow jams, which is the biggest, heaping pile of doggie doo that I have ever heard since New Kids on the Block. I give the boy bands of the 80's and 90's more credit though. They might not have wrote their own songs, ... Read More:
