The first and the best. I've probably listened to this album a million times from beginning to end, and never get tired of it. This is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Release Date November 16, 2004
There are a couple of old Bone hits on this CD, but if you're a true Bone fan looking to get back in the Bone groove, it's a better idea to just re-purchase Creepin on a Come Up and/or E1999. Dont get me wrong, there are some hits on this CD, but it's missing a LOT of other Bone Hits. Disc 1 is cool, but Disc 2 is full of Bone songs I had never even heard of which are NOT hits. Seems like they were trying to sneak some newer Bone in with the old school stuff.

This doesn't hold a candle to Check Your Head or Paul's Boutique. There are some decent tracks, but lyrically this was a huge slide for them. It just sounds forced and there is a lot of mediocre filler...
Buy one of those two albums first (CYH or PB), then get Ill Communication and Licensed to Ill. This album is better than 5 boroughs but thats about it...

His debut 1996 "Maxinquaye" and "Nearly God" spin-off were staggeringly good, but after that Bristol rapper Tricky too often seemed lost in a haze, going from making music which expressed the paranoia and confusion of modern life, to sounding like those sensations were overwhelming him.
"Knowle West Boy" comes as a surprise - the sound is clean, sparse and almost punk at times.
The album is full of autobiographical references, starting with the title, which namechecks the area he grew up in. This could be an effort to remind himself of his roots when he is far from home. Or maybe he is just at that nostalgic age - 40 - when he feels it is time to reclaim the musical influences which shaped him.
The results are mixed, with some trademark ... Read More:

The vocals suck, the lyrics suck, the music sucks and this whole band needs to die in a plane crash. My friend played this album for me and I got mad. Limp biskit is horrible. At least they died off. To bad it made me rate it, this isn't even worthy of one star.
Release Date November 22, 2005
this CD is amazing to begin with, plus I got it for a good price and it came fast and in good condition. gotta check it out!!
Release Date November 30, 2004
Just go get the damn CD! If you think Trap Muzik was hot, man wait till you hear this album. It's worthy of an album of the year award (circa 2004). Like I said, go get the damn CD!!
Release Date June 10, 2008
As much as we all have nostalgia for his older albums, I'm gonna hafta go out on a limb and say this is KRS-One's best CD yet. The rhymes, the music, and the energy of this release are proof positive that KRS is just as relevant to Hiphop, and to society in general, as he ever was. You'd think it was a mattress the way this album has been slept on, but such is life, ya dig? No matter what spectrum of Hiphop you represent or identify with, you've got to give it up to KRS for trying to bring some much needed unity to the Hiphop community.
After jamming to these 12 tracks repeatedly in every possible sequence for over a week now, I haven't grown tired of the album yet, if that tells you anything about how much this album has been rockin my noggin. Track 2 and track 12 are my favorites, ... Read More:

When I bought this soundtrack I was really impressed, Mainly by track 12- Satellite (Spanish Version) Nave Espacial (From "Havana Nights") - Santana Featuring Jorge Moreno. I was also immediately taken by Dirty Dancing by the Black Eyed Peas. It seemed out of place, and was hardly dirty, but I figured that the filmmakers knew what they were doing. And while I thought that the omission of Baby and Patrick Swayze from the album cover was odd, I couldn't wait to see the film. Were these people on the cover the kids of baby and Swayze? Would they carry on the tradition of Dirty Dancing? Well, Buyer beware! The movie is only dirty in the way that it tricks its viewer into thinking they're getting the further adventures of Baby! There is no Baby! The film takes place in Cuba, and everyone is sweaty. The two people ... Read More:

It's been over 12 years since I first heard this CD and to this day, when I hear the thump of Respond React, it still gives me goosebumps.
I love this album. It's whats good about Hip Hop. Or should I say, it's what was good about Hip Hop. Flawless. Complete. Nothing today can come close. Lyrically stimulating. Black Thought is gem in this release.
I won't insult your intelligence by saying this is the best Roots album. If your reading this, then you know who the Roots are. Organix and Do You Want More are also exceptional. This was their last great album.
Best Hip Hop album of all-time? .... Honestly. Yes. Barely beats out Madvillain.
