It's been over 12 years since I first heard this CD and to this day, when I hear the thump of Respond React, it still gives me goosebumps.

I love this album. It's whats good about Hip Hop. Or should I say, it's what was good about Hip Hop. Flawless. Complete. Nothing today can come close. Lyrically stimulating. Black Thought is gem in this release.

I won't insult your intelligence by saying this is the best Roots album. If your reading this, then you know who the Roots are. Organix and Do You Want More are also exceptional. This was their last great album.

Best Hip Hop album of all-time? .... Honestly. Yes. Barely beats out Madvillain.

I was hooked from the very first time I heard " Your Disease". I saw the video and was just blown away. I found the CD for like $6.99 at Best Buy when it came out and it has been played so many times I can't count.
I have bought all there CD' since the first. Each time I am waiting the day the are released. I have seen them live and they are one of the best shows ( I have seen more than 60) I have ver seen. I met Josie Scott and he is abosolutely real...

I am a liberal and openminded fan of music in general. The Roots and this release by The Roots are not just some of the best hip hop has to offer; they are some the best MUSIC the world over has to offer. These guys have many great albums, and in my opinion, the greatest musical talents grow and evolve with each release; giving a unique listening experience with every album. If you are looking for the same sound as "illadelph" or any of their other previous works, which stand alone with greatness, you are not giving yourself a chance to truly experience this great album as well as many others. never thought i would say this but i wish i had gotten the "dirty version"
instead
some of the songs dont sound right
especially glamorous

take your broke broke home instead of broke a++ home

it did sound wrong

i normally dont mind clean versions

this time i did

i may get the dirty version just to hear it in its original context

overall its a great cd

Of course, that really doesn't mean much for ATCQ, since this album is still miles ahead from the boring gangster rap and miles times ten ahead of third rate try-too-hard rap artists like jay-z and kanye west these days (let's not even mention crunk and snap audio).

While the style isn't as intriguing as (especially) People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm or The Low End Theory, it's more darker sound is welcome. The first three albums offer something different for each listen. Quest proves that they can create a mood with the music, which is what all hip-hop albums should offer regarding (The Low End Theory's mood to me represents the need to just bring it no-nonsense. Well, I did not order this one from Amazon. Actually, I picked this up way before I was even shopping on Amazon. But Amazon is still the bomb! Anyway, I picked this cd up when it first came out in the 90's and it is STILL on rotation in my cd changer. The ladies love it and so do I. Now, I realize that R. Kelly is in a little trouble but hey, no one is perfect and we've all done things we are not proud of so, I'll continue to support his music. I'm not sure what he does in his personal life but I'll say this; what he does inside the studio allows me to do what I gotta do inside the crib. YMMV! Neosoul06....

I own almost all of his other CDs and I think this might just be his best one. Its a solid collabo CD (no, the other rappers hold their own on this album compared to Tech) so it's not just Tech but it is F**kin amazing!!! The beats are produced way better than most every other track he has made; notably better than just about every track on Everready. And if you're from KC, you'll LOVE P.A.S.E.O.

First off, these guys aren't rolling in cash like most of the mainstream rappers. They make music because they love what they do. It important to actually buy their cd and not just download it. I could never do that, I have to much respect for these guys.
I got the Show a month and a half ago and I have yet to take it out of my car's cd player. I have dozens of rap and hip-hop cds from almost every artist, but none of them are as deep as this. I got the cd since I'm a huge Masta Ace fan, and Masta Ace at a whole different level, probably as close to perfection as you can get. If you like this cd you'll love his other 2 cds released a few years ago.
There are only 2 songs on it that I don't like, all the others are sweet. These guys ... Read More:

This album is possibly Common's best work. Testify, Be, The Food, Go, they are all great songs. Common has great albums, but this one is my favorite.
