I do not agree with Rage's message in trying to take down the government but I LOVE their music. Tom Morello is a genius on the guitar, Brad Wilk is an amazing drummer, and Zach is a singer full of pure energy.

I grew up listening to RATM and even though I do not agree with all of their political views I still admire their music. This album is absolutely great, I understand most songs on this album are about a political view [Kick out the Jams, Ghost of Tom Joad, Streeting Fighting Man, Maggies Farm] but tying that in with other songs like [Microphone Fiend, Down on the Street, Pistol Grip Pump] is just brilliant. I have to admit when I first heard this album I was blown away. I still have my same copy with the black disc. I will say that this album is a more commercial version of Reasonable Doubt. Even though it has a more commercial feel to it, its still an excellent album. This was slated to be Jay-Z's last album so I guess he wanted to go out with a bang and The Black Album does just that. It's similar to Reasonable Doubt in that he has some very personal songs on it like December 4th (great song) and Lucifer (a personal favorite of mine). However, it still shows Jay-Z's evolution as a more mainstream rap artist. This could be good or bad depending on what type of hip hop fan you are. the notorious biggie is a rapper from new york. he is aparently known for a great flow. i found out his real name is Christopher George Latore Wallace! did u know his favorite movie is the lion king? his first album was called a classic by many so lets see how his second album LIFE AFTER DEATH measure up.
this CD was released by world famous raper PUFF DADDY. it was about the same time as somethign called COAST BEEF. if u dont know what that was, it was EAST coast rap VS wEST coast rap. (it turns out the DIRTY SOUTH won LOL). PUFFY also produced the beats while BIGGIE is on the mic. the beats are a bit stale for my likings.

After hearing her last effort "I've Got My Own Hell To Raise" I did not think that CD could be outdone. But right here it is. This collaboration is pure magic and puts Ms. LaVette right where she belongs...backed by great musicians with the freedom to be out front, and interperet the songs in her own magnificent style. What the likes of today's so called "singers" could learn here! Bettye, I'm so glad the money came in. You deserve every bit and more.
