even though I consider Regina as one of the greatest female vocalist
singers , this new style of Gospel is not for her, She is more like
soul-love music. I hope she can do something like before, but still
this album is excellent.

That Minneapolis sound...wow, it has all been stated by others, but the intro to 'Purple Rain'...that BIG, lush, twangy, warm, full-bodied Richenbacker 330/12 string is one of the masterpieces of Prince's career. He does more with those few bars than others do with an entire cd. It sets up a great song and lays the foundation for Prince to come in later with his odd looking, but razor sharp axe, and slice and dice his way through a song that has held up amazingly well since 1984...Man, what a guitar!

I am not typically a person that enjoys jazz music or even close to it. I heard a 2 second clip of "Arms of a Woman" on a commercial for the album and I was intrigued enough to check it out. Well, I purchased the album and was blown away by the artist's vocals. I don't even know how to describe how much I like this album:) All music should be this good, and it is truly a shame that artists this good do not come around more often. Amos Lee has turned me into a true, lifelong fan. I am so glad that I discovered this artist and I am truly looking forward to more great stuff that he puts out.

Let me start off by saying that I'm a huge Christina fan. I think she's an incredibly talented young lady with a powerhouse voice. However, the theme of this album is suppose to be a tribute to traditional jazz and blues music from the 20's, 30's, and 40's. Christina has openly said that she wanted this album to reflect on old jazz music. However, the album only achieves this on 2 or 3 tracks. "Candyman" and "I Got Trouble" sound like authentic jazz tunes that could've been recorded in the 1940's. "Nasty Naughty Boy" is a sultry, seductive song that sounds like it's straight out of a 1920's burlesque strip show. The rest of the album is filled with up-tempo pop tracks (Slow Down Baby, Aint No Other Man), sappy love songs (Save Me From Myself, The ... Read More:

Robyn goes the extra mile on every track on this album. She is a strong vocalist, catchy tunes. Robyn's album is much better than Madonna's latest, and I like Madonna, but Robyn is a much stronger vocalist, has way more original style. Every track is excellent, I especially like Cobra Style which she performed on that stupid show The View. I think the track Be Mine is my favorite, strong vocalst, great production, raw emotion, a story is told in this song everyone can relate to. Robyn is the real deal, she leaves weak no talents like Janet Jackson or Ashlee Simpson in the dust. She is making records to make music, she is not some record compay puppet with no vision or talent, like a Janet Jackson.
