What can you say about the Beatles??!! My daughter loves the movie (it was my first movie when I was 3), so we bought the soundtrack for the car. We all love it, and we all sing along!

After the "Drama" album and tour the Yes camp pretty much split up and it looked like the band was done. Trevor Horn went on to be one of the most successful producers in rock, and would produce, but not participate in the "90125" album. Geoff Downs and Steve Howe went on to have great success with Asia. This basically left Chris Squire and Alan White as the odd men out. Enter a very talented young guitarist / vocalist from South Africa by the name of Trevor Rabin. Rabin had done several solo albums and had also had moderate success with the band Rabbit. Squire, White, and Rabin began working together eventually bringing in original Yes keyboard player Tony Kaye calling themselves Cinema. Cinema came close to putting an album together, ... Read More:

Here's one of the lesser-known but absolutely essential albums of the 1960s, one that captures the innocence & optimism that touched the lives of so many during that sadly brief time. What jaded reviewers dismiss as empty & shallow was something very real & vibrant then -- and we could use more of it today, when times are so grim & bitter, and the human spirit has been crushed in all too many individuals. As the song says, "White bird must fly / Or she will die."
From the quintessential opening track, to the sprawling three-part suite of Side 2 (for those who remember LPs), this is a strong collection of songs imbued with the sense of endless possibilities abroad then. Naive? Yes, to some degree. But as another American original ... Read More:

Billboard Top Rock & Roll Hits: 1968 is yet another low priced CD that gives us great rock and roll hits from 1968. The sound quality is great and the artwork is as good as all the others in this CD series.
Archie Bell & The Drells start off the track list with their hit entitled "Tighten Up." This peppy number benefits from great horns, singing and percussion. Archie Bell & The Drells perform "Tighten Up" to perfection and they handle the tempo changes like the pros that they always were!
Listen also for "Judy In Disguise (With Glasses)." This psychedelic rock tune has some great music and John Fred & His Playboy Band do this one up right! John Fred sings this to perfection and it's a great tune for listening--or even dancing! ... Read More:

I've had the first King Crimson album for quite some time now, and I've always been a fan of theirs. This album, their sixth, released in 1972, is my new favorite. Can you imagine? Six albums over three to four years? Nobody does that these days, nobody! And don't even get me started with the Beatles! This is about "Crim", although I admit I love the Beatles as well... I'm still trying to figure out "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part I" on my guitar, and it's quite challenging! In the words of Sean Penn's character in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High": "Awesome! Totally awesome!!" Does anyone know of any available transcriptions of their music?

Please note: the 'one-star' rating does is not intended as a reflection of the music itself. The single star is for this subpar, totally under-represented collection.
This was released originally back in 1976. There is no good reason for it to still be in print. Every track is available elsewhere with the exception of the 1971 charity single "Bangla Desh." Harrison is so far overdo for a good career-spanning Best Of that it isn't even funny. Each of the other former Beatles have excellent career retrospectives available.
More than half this collection is given over to Beatles songs. That leaves a paltry 6 solo songs, and nothing beyond 1976. George's solo discography is rich, varied, and consistently interesting. I can only hope that this ... Read More:
