This cd is def a must have for fans of Procol Harum and their foray into Orchestral recordings. Includes their single release of "Conquistador" which is just as relevant today as it was when recorded in 1971. This showcases the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at its finest and the whole cd well withstands the test of time. Proves that wine isn't the only thing that improves with age. Loved it!

This is Santana at his finest. My favorite, arguably, is "Treat" with a great mixture of fast and slow tempos, piano and guitar, bongos and a salsa rhythm that will slap you in the face if your volume dial and speakers will allow it. Afterwards just explodes right into "Blues For Salvador" which is just icing on the cake. I wish they would've put a few more songs from the album Zebop onto this collection, namely "American Gypsy" which is another great song that doesn't get the attention it deserves as well as "Tales of Kilimanjaro". All I can say is WOW!

I've always been a fan of Nilsson since I first heard "Everybody's Talking" back in '69 and then I read that The Beatles were his biggest fans. Nilsson was a singer's singer, he could sing so well and had a great voice range. He also had a quirky sense of humor. This CD captures all his finest works in one CD. There are a couple of songs from the Nillson Shmeilsson CD that aren't here that I also enjoyed, but these 20 songs are all great. Along with Eveybody's Talkin', these feature the best songs off all his albums, My favorites: Everybody's Talkin', Me and My Arrow, Coconut, The Moonbeam Song, My Old Desk, Cuddly Toy etc. Actually there isn't a bad cut on this CD. If you want the cream of Nilsson, this is the one to own. The sound is also superb.

They are at their best when doing the mellow stuff, it did put me to sleep but that is not always a bad thing. Country Joe's voice is a little grating as I knew it would be but the psychedelic sounds more than offset it. Experimental, pioneering, trippy with cool tremelo guitars and organ sounds. Essential if you want to understand influences of the era, another good example is Paul Butterfield's second album though this one is way out there.

TO OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN'S CHILDREN, which is yet another magnificent Moody Blues CD, is now even better, with warm, thick remastering and numerous bonus cuts. The albums lyrics about time, what its passage means, and how we all must move on from our past, now inspire me even more to put looking good for my favorite actresses as a higher priority than attending Thanksgiving Dinner at my old school for my 15th graduation anniversary, thanks to increased warmth and clarity in the sound of the singing and how the instruments carry the vocals even better now. This is a reissue you definitely should NOT pass up.
Release Date February 25, 2003
You can play me any album that opens with a 23 minute 19 second live version of Dark Star. Live/Dead hits the spot; scratches that 40-year old itch; tells it like it was back when it really was. Makes you wish you could've been there or could go back again. Well, you can at least go visit for a while when you're listening to this album.

Rhino Records does it again. This 4 C.D. box set captures the San Fransisco, West Coast Sound of the mid to late sixties. If you lived in the Bay Area at that time, I highly recommend this box set. I was living in Hawaii at the time and i remember a lot of these tunes, which i haven't heard since that time. I feel that they could have added another disc of the really commercial stuff that we are all familiar with, but i guess with licensing problems and such. The folks who will appreciate this set the most will be the baby boomers. You know the sole suvivors of that great time in music.

This DVD is filled with a bunch of hanger-on, acquaintances and people who actually there being interview, giving their opinions, observations and stories about Jimi Hendrix. Gets real boring after a few minutes. The live portion is a step above a bootleg in visual quality. The sound is not bad, but the live CD is better. Would only recommend this to hard core Hendrix fans.

George really was way too underrated. This album will always be a classic.
