Here, we have a brilliant assemblage of '60s tunes that will transport any Baby Boomer back to as close as one can get to the good old days.
I particularly love this CD because they've revived some great songs that would have been otherwise forgotten for me. I swear that the folks who pulled this brilliant selection of tracks all together into one CD must be the scoundrels who stole my beloved giant box of 33s and 8-tracks!
It would have been nice if they had included each and every song from this superb film but something is better than nothing at all. For anyone into '60s nostalgia, this CD is a must.

Born too late and having missed out on one of my favorite bands this movie provides the closest thing to a Grateful Dead show out there. Even if you're not a fan I think there is a lot of value in watching this DVD. It also might turn someone on ...
This needs the HD treatment. The DVD sparks with excellent sound and video quality I couldn't imagine what it would be like in HD. Closer to the real thing? Perhaps!

The first four superb cuts of Identity Crisis fairly showcase the musical breadth of what Shelby Lynne is about here. Telephone is a rueful bluesy swagger. 10 Rocks uses a gospel chorus to chronicle permanent loss. If I Were Smart is a ballad on the perils of the heart, and the rousing Gotta Be Better in its arrangement if not its lyrics maintains that things can brighten, but maybe only on the other side. Later in the CD, Lonesome is a country weeper that Patsy Cline would have been proud to own. Thematically, though, while it has its occasional moments of peace and rest (I Will Stay, Baby and the beautiful final cut One With the Sun), Identity Crisis mostly showcases relationships in decline or failure. You don't want to be there in all ... Read More:

The third album of the Fripp-Bruford-Wetton incarnation of King Crimson, it is also their most consistently realized. It's the album that finally puts on tape what Fripp seemed to be trying to conceptualize when he put together a new line-up for Larks' Tongues in Aspic, when he finally shucked off the lyrical hippie-trappings of the founding Crimson in favor of his muse's excruciatingly cerebral logic-rock. Brainy, however, does not mean anemic in Fripp's world, as he and crew plow their way into a soundscape of the most visceral noises imaginable. All the more impressively given that this is music from 1974. Recorded yesterday, it could still cause a stir (I'd hope), with the remastering only adding to the sonic pleasures of the disc. So it seems only ... Read More:

As much as I love Stevie Wonder as an artist, it's almost impossible to buy every last album he's ever released. Not only that, it would be way too costly to attempt (though I would say every 70s album SHOULD be bought). This set is the epitome of what a compilation set should be -- virtually every meaningful song he has made over his vast career. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to know what Stevie was about in one stop.

Oh, By the Way
I bought this Pink Floyd Oh By The Way set for around $173 from Amazon, in July of 2008. I have no problems with the set, as was mentioned in other reviews. The labeling for Ummagumma and The Wall are OK. All inserts are included. I did not know about the Japanese mini-sleeves released in 2001 before I made this purchase. Who knows whether those will ever be released again or how much they might cost? I notice in some photos that the box is blue-colored. Mine is brown. Was there a North American set and a UK version? Is this an Import? Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.

I finally got around to replacing my old casette version of "Flowers" with the CD. Although I prefer the earlier Rolling Stones' rough-around-the-edges sound to slick studio records like this one with the mandolins and harpsichords on some of the tracks, "Flowers" is still a great album. "Ruby Tuesday" is one of the Rolling Stones very best songs. Several of the other tracks carry interesting and sarcastic overtones of British class and social consciousness: "Lady Jane", "Back Street Girl", "Have you seen your Mother, Baby...", "Mother's Little Helper". The song "Let's Spend the Night Together" was so racy in it's day that the rolling Stones had to agree to change the Lyrics to "Let's Spend Some Time Together" to appear live on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1967. ... This is my favorite Curtis Mayfield album hands down. He really layed it out on this soundtrack for the movie. He was as real as real could get about the street life and the drug dealer and just the whole infrastructure of the street life and the players within the game. The tracks on this album is right on. A must have. That's all I have to say.

Great 60's and early 70's band featuring the great "Jimi Hendrix Like" guitar of Robin Torwer. It is worth the price of the CD just to hear Whiskey Train. Very seldom heard on the radio, this tune is a hidden gem and if you love guitar, you'll love this song. Scott
