The review title says it all, I bought this album reluctantly ( cow issues ) but two months later I still keep skipping to it on my Ipod, "Summer of '68" alone is worth the price of the album, buy it already!
Release Date May 20, 1997
I was a major Moody Blues fan back in the era of this release. I owned every one of their albums on vinyl. I saw them in concert around 1970 and they were amazingly good live considering the amount of "studio" they always put into their work. I recently went back and purchased "Threshold" and "Lost Chord". The vocals and arrangements hold up pretty well and these guys were good players. However, some of the lyrics almost seem hokey and hard to take seriously (I really took this stuff seriously as a young kid). The poetic input is almost comical at times, but does help to frame the thematic nature of the album. Personally, I always liked "Threshold" the best with it's airy feel. Top tracks are "Lovely to See You", "Never Comes The Day" and "Are You ... Read More:

1) Was it really necessary to release yet another live album? Nope.
2) Can the guys still play their instruments and pull off a semi-decent show even though they must be pushing 60? Yes, though barely - energy levels are clearly different.
3)Can Geddy still deliver the goods? Sadly no - and here for me, is the clincher.
I've been a Rush fan for 30+ years and own EVERYTHING they've ever released. For the sake of completeness, I bought this CD but I have to say that the listening experience is rendered painful when listening to Geddy trying to hit the notes.
I was playing it in my car when a friend, hearing Rush for the first time, remarked "the music's OK but the singer sounds so affected, like he's really struggling''. ... Read More:

I second most reviews about this famous and important live recording by Bowie & Spiders.
Just a note: Some Bowie talking between songs are cut out, compared to the Golden Years release some years ago. Compare for instance the intro to "Andy Warhol".
Release Date January 14, 2003
This was the first Yes album I bought when I was in High School and it was new. The sound is as good as the original album. I really don't care for the extra songs, but they don't detract from the rest of the album in any way, so I'm ok with it. Get this one if you liked Yes.

The Fab Four had the tightest quality control in the business, as this final installment of "The Beatles Anthology" demonstrates. It covers, roughly, the period from the White Album sessions to the end of the group, including material that would be released as early solo efforts by Paul McCartney and George Harrison. There's a reason why "What's The New Mary Jane" was never foisted on the public--it's awful. The group respected its audience.
This collection, however, is nevertheless indispensible for Beatlephiles and rock historians alike, as it also reveals the most important group in music at work in the studio during its last phases developing songs we all know and love.
Release Date April 10, 2006
The songs on this CD are so well-known that I really have very little to add to what has already been written about them. I was a bit disappointed that "Rockaria" was not included. Otherwise, for folks not acquainted with ELO, the lyrics on most songs are drivel while the melodies are tough to beat.

There will probably never be another production with this much magic involved. The time was the Berlin Wall coming down, the place was Berlin. The crowd numbered in the tens of thousands. Luck and God was on their side to pull this off in so little time. AMAZING!!! There could not have been a better celebration of such a historical event in time.

This seems to have been mastered from 2 track PA feed tapes which means that your not going to be getting a high end multi track recording. However, if you love the Moodies and if you like live albums, look no futher. The sound does begin to get dialed in during a smoking Gypsy. This set has a great setlist and we even get three songs that haven't shown up live anywhere else before (Minstrel's Song, Tortoise And The Hare and Melancholy Man). Remember that this is 1970 and it might be the only show that was recorded during the A Question Of Balance tour.
