I had this album on vinyl many years ago, with the same picture on the cover. The sound is still excellent.
Ordering and delivery were without fault.

Pink Floyd evolved to a super group over the years, but I love to go back to the early years. They were way ahead of their time. I remember when I was first introduced to Pink Floyd in Spring 1968, when I saw a video of "Let There Be More Light" on TV. That got my attention, and I've been a fan ever since.

When I bought this album in London all those years ago, I immediately fell in love with it. I had always loved Parson's work, but I only had "Pyramid" before then. This whole album is extroardinary. All the songs are incredible for their melodic, harmonic, lush delivery of a wide range of pop styles that were the hallmark of the period.
I gave the album 4 stars because unlike the original vinyl, the re-release of this on disc, has several extra tracks that seem to go on forever, almost making you wish for it to be over.
Shameless plug: The best song on the album is by Colin Blunstone "Old and Wise". It is the reason I bought it in the 1st place and the reason I have replaced it now. It was the the last song on the original album, and was ... Read More:

Brian Eno was not necessarily the founder of ambient music. I am not an expert on early ambient music so I cannot cite any earlier artists except perhaps Tangerine Dream and Cluster, but by the time Brian Eno created his first ambient album, Discreet Music, music as atmosphere was an idea that had already been toyed around with in modern music. In fact, even Brian Eno had experimented with ambiance before Discreet Music, in particular with his atmospheric instrumentals on his other 1975 album released two months earlier, Another Green World, and on his 1973 joint effort with Robert Fripp entitled No Pussyfooting.
However, it was not until 1978's Music For Airports that people started taking notice of Brian Eno's ambient music. I would even go so far ... Read More:

"Hit" is a double-CD collection of Peter Gabriel's greatest hits, one disc labelled "Hit," and one labelled "Miss." The great Mr. Gabriel is the former lead singer of Genesis and one of pop/rock's greatest talents because of his clever and inventive lyrics, and notable visual style on videos and in concert. Moreover, his selfless devotion to popularizing world music has made him a champion of otherwise unknown Third World musicians.
"Hit" captures early Gabriel ("Solsbury Hill" "Shock The Monkey"), middle Gabriel ("Sledgehammer" "Steam") and later Gabriel ("I Grieve" "The Drop") and many other songs that capture the flavor and essence of Gabriel's soulful, eclectic style. But as good as this collection is, it's not comprehensive. Missing is "I Have ... Read More:

We really enjoy a different take on Christmas carols once in a while, and this is certainly right up there with their other Christmas music. A couple of people have told me they like the fact that the carols are so unusual, which is why I love this album!
Being different is their classification, and, they do it well in all their albums. A mixture of old and new sounds with electronic and classical instruments for our enjoyment, they take you to a dreamy area in your mind.
Their music is fun, we've been to their concerts and this just adds to our enjoyment of the season.

Of course, the self-titled Rush album was first, but Fly By Night sounds like a completely different band. The Rush album is pure heavy metal; Fly By Night is much more mature and developed, although with still a way to go. The band would not put out another album with this many tracks for some time, opting for longer, progressive rock compositions. (Although some, such as the 2112 suite, are merely medleys, or dare I say, 'rock operas.') I really liked this when it was released, and continued to buy Rush albums right up through Hemispheres. The band would continue to develop their craft on Caress of Steel and the hugely popular 2112, but the true peak of the band is preserved on A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres. Check out Fly By Night for a glimpse of the road ... Read More:

If you're new to Dream Theater, go ahead and start with this CD. But trust me, you're going to want to buy the individual albums as well. My favorite is still Images and Words.
Release Date June 03, 1997
This is a really good album...I thought that I would dislike it, being a strong fan of 2112, Fly by Night, and A Farewell to Kings. I am glad to say that I was mistaken. It is not as good as the albums listed above, but it catches them in the middle of their synth period. This album is really catchy and has great singing. It shows how diverse Rush can be. Recomended to the moderate fan, but not a casual fan.
Release Date June 03, 1997
I used to own this CD but sold it. I really didn't listen to it any more. Then, recently, I got back into Rush after seeing the Snakes and Arrows tour, and it inspired me to fill out my Rush CD collection. Actually this CD is a lot better than I remember it to be. Of course, it is VERY synth heavy, a product of the time. If you can get past that, it's very enjoyable.
