This rating is for the first nine tracks of the original album.
***** The Remastering rating is five star, nothing short of excellent.
Eve was the Project's fourth studio album. It peaked at #13 on the charts & had there weren't any charting singles from it. Eve was never an album that impressed me much. Some of this might be that the original concept for the album had to be scrapped & a more general idea used pertaining to the fairer form of the human race.
The album opens in typical fashion with the instrumental "Lucifer". Unlike many of the Project's previous albums where the opening instrumental jumped out & made you take notice, "Lucifer" doesn't come close to doing this. The next song, "You Lie Down ... Read More:

Jethro Tull. They are a legendary progressive group whose music has made an impact on many generations. Led by Ian Anderson, the legendary flute player and singer and Martin Barre, Tull has made some of the finest music ever put out.
'The Very Best of Jethro Tull,' unfortunately doesn't document it. There are so many songs missing. And, 'Thick As A Brick' and 'Heavy Horses' are both edited. 'Thick As A Brick' is chopped down from 40+ minutes to just 3:03, and 'Heavy Horses' from 8+ to 3:20.
And, if you're going to issue 'The Very Best of Jethro Tull' AT LEAST MAKE IT TWO DISCS!!! Where is 'Teacher,' 'Crossfire,' 'A Song For Jeffrey,' 'Warchild' and 'Dharma For One'? These are key tracks to Jethro Tull's legacy, and yet, ... Read More:

Apocalyptica is a Finnish cello metal band, composed of classically trained cellists and, since 2005, a drummer.
Also please don't confuse Apocalyptica with the String Quartet Tribute series of albums as Apocalyptica is from what i'm told way better.
Have You ever thought that Metal isn't only powerfull chords and loud epic vocals? Metal music is more like a lifestyle for some, with it's bits and pieces. Apocalyptica is certainly one of the pieces and to be true a really unique piece. Apocalyptica brings the lifestyle of metal in a classical form to it's audience.
Out of nowhere they came and started something totally new. This album has some of the best from the many songs of Metallica. The ever rocking "Master of ... Read More:

Megadeth is one of the classic thrash metal bands, and as such they have a lot of albums, and a lot of experience. This collection has something from every part of their careers, and as such it is a must have for any avid fan.
There are plenty of goodies, from unreleased tracks to never before seen video, plus demo versions of some of their most popular songs.
At any rate, if you're as big a Megadeth fan as I am, this belongs in your collection.

I think this album gives a fine example of a great band with 30 years together can still create some great musical ideas. Alex's guitar playing shows a restrained maturity, and the emphasis on accoustic guitar really complements the album. I really liked Malignant Narcissism, as it builds a unique groove, and Alex's work on "Hope" which is really a standout on the album. Geddy seems to have found a new voice which is less shrill and surprisingly powerful. Niel's drum work is, of course, flawless throughout-- refined, tight and perfect. Lyrically, sometimes Neil strays a little too far into the "what is it all about" territory, but in general, a lot of emotion comes through in the material.

I had this album on vinyl many years ago, with the same picture on the cover. The sound is still excellent.
Ordering and delivery were without fault.

The 1982 release of "ASIA" was the first cassette album I purchased for my walkman (remember those?) back in the beginning throws of my teenager years. It opened a personal path for me to hear music that would become mine. 'Mine' in the sense that it wasn't the music my parents had me listen to, nor music others were into that I did not enjoy. The music of Asia provided me much needed solitude while riding my bicycle around the city bike paths and gave me a sense of freedom and escape from the stresses of youth. I connected with the music very quickly and found myself almost always selecting Asia as the band of listening choice when going on my rides.
Music is a very personal thing. I never find it worth while to spend time writing how I hate a band ... Read More:

This album by the Mars Volta is brilliant. The album starts with an energetic few tracks, and goes into a spacy jam of Cicatrez ESP. It ends quite abruptly feeling, but the ending leaves you satisfied. The story is about a man named Cerpin Taxt, who poisons himself, goes into a coma, has dreams about bizzare things, and then wakes up, and jumps off of a bridge. (Very dark sounding, I know.) The story is actually great when put into the song, and his story can be interpreted as you would like, and Cedric Bixler-Zavala definitely leaves alot of lyrics unexplained. Guest appearences include RHCP's John Frusciante for Cicatrez ESP, and RHCP's bassist Flea plays throughout. ATD-I band members make a step forward from the previous genre, paving a path of their own. If you are ... Read More:
