I know I'll catch heat for this opinion but here goes. I always thought this album was very good, not great, but original in concept and execution. In my mind a great album is one of those can't live without, desert island albums. Albums that I play often over a period of many years and must have in my collection. I bought this album on vinyl when it came out and played it often for about six months maybe a year. I just bought a used copy of it recently and played it for the first time in many years. While I like the sound quailty and the unique arrangements, these songs just don't stand the test of time for me. The last "Now" CD I bought was Now 6. This is the only one really that interested me since then, and I like most of the songs on it.
If you listen to Top-40 radio, and don't want to buy Britney Spears' new album, but like "Piece of Me," for example, it's good.

But if you've already bought Alicia Keys and Sara Bareillis, it's not that worthwhile.
Overall, though, it's a great album with lots of fun hits.

WHY WOULD ANYBODY GIVE THIS CD ONE STAR? IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE SONGS, THEN DON'T ORDER IT. I'LL JUDGE THE CONTENTS AND LET ME TELL YOU ROD CAN SING. I HAVE HIS BOX SET, BUT SOMETIMES IT NICE TO HAVE A CD OF HITS THAT I DON'T HAVE TO SKIP ANY SO-SO SONGS. IF YOU WANT A GOOD REPRESENTATIVE COLLECTION OF ROD STEWART'S HITS, THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST ONE ON THE MARKET. IF IT HAD "PEOPLE GET READY" I'D CALL IT PERFECT. A GREAT CD WORTH EVERY PENNY.

The album is not bad. I was expecting the same music that was on his cable concert and that is not what was on the album. So including the diapointment that the main song I wanted was not on it I have to say that the album was just "OK".

Let me start off by saying that I'm a huge Christina fan. I think she's an incredibly talented young lady with a powerhouse voice. However, the theme of this album is suppose to be a tribute to traditional jazz and blues music from the 20's, 30's, and 40's. Christina has openly said that she wanted this album to reflect on old jazz music. However, the album only achieves this on 2 or 3 tracks. "Candyman" and "I Got Trouble" sound like authentic jazz tunes that could've been recorded in the 1940's. "Nasty Naughty Boy" is a sultry, seductive song that sounds like it's straight out of a 1920's burlesque strip show. Didn't happen!
The same exact disc as Memory. Just as dull and uninspired. The mandatory happy opening song. The obligatory spooky second song.
Nothing new or innovative here.
Get her first three. Enya is just cashing in at this point.
