Young Jeezy hits the nail on the head for making a relevant album with a theme "recession" we all can relate to. This is by far his best effort, He has a message of how to stay motivated through hard economic times and recognizes the historic change in America and the hope we all have with the next presidential election and Barack Obama. He has a universal message on this third effort as compared to his last he is focused on grater issues than just motivating trappers or street hustlers. But with almost every album there are always downfalls.
Lyrics--- 3/5 Young jeezy is not the most lyrical rapper but his style and swagger is intact, he has sort of an old school rhyme cadence and basic lyrics and metaphors but his raspy voice is his ... Read More:

Noisiy guitar riffs, loud vocals, risky lyrics and cheesy slow ballads made this album just perfect for lost teenagers who are looking for a new Avril Lavinge to follow.
Apart from a few good ones, including of course the hit singles, there's not really much new on this "Pink-meets-Avril Lavinge-wannabe-Alanis Morisette" experiment.
The good ones are really good and the other ones, well, are just not much relevant... Probably, rather than releasing full album, a Maxi-EP would have been better enough as one can feel how some of the cuts are in here just for filling.

This album features some of Joe B.'s best guitar work and especially his best vocals. We all know how tremendous of a guitar talent he is, but he seems to be getting better and better vocally (he was always very good, of course). "Asking Around For You" is especially fantastic. And a great solo from the piano player as well. His guitar playing is astounding in "Walk In My Shadows" and "So Many Roads". In addition to some other reviewers, I also would welcome more blues material in this album, but I still enjoyed some of the rock material, especially the "Just Got Paid"-"Dazed and Confused" medley--great stuff!
A couple of letdowns, though, albeit minor ones. First, "If Heartaches Were Nickels" starts off as a heartfelt, acoustic blues with ... Read More:

Excellent production!! The film version sound track faithfully reproduced
the ABBA music, but the cast singing was just acceptable. Unfortunately,
the CD cannot show the beautiful scenery/setting for the movie version.
Highly recommend the Broadway cast CD over the movie CD!!

It's been a long time that someone has all the elements of greatness when it comes to a male singer. Michael has these elements in spades. A lovely voice with a full range, incredible control and phrasing, and that special building of anticipation that the greats have, fill this musical collection of older and more modern music. The musicians are also wonderful and conducted superbly well.

Narrow Stairs (2008, Atlantic) Death Cab For Cutie's sixth studio album. ****1/2
I'm not sure that it really matters if Narrow Stairs is of the same caliber as Transatlanticism. What matters is that on its own, Narrow Stairs is a fantastic album, certainly one of the best of 2008 thus far. The tone is very clear, and never does its message of loneliness and wanting, the darkness of unrequited love, get lost in even the upbeat and inspiring music.
"I Will Possess Your Heart" is easily a strong point in the album, but by no means is it the only memorable tune. It's almost too long, for the four-minute instrumental introduction is not necessary at all. But once Ben Gibbard's vocals come in, the undeniable beat of his voice is imposible to ... Read More:

This album is awesome! I love to listen to her songs! Of course the title track, "Put Your Arms Around Me", "Happy", and "Freckles" are my faves. If you're looking for carefree, feel good music, this is a must have.

This album caught me off guard at first. I did not know how to react to it, as I was hoping for somewhat of a mix between "Break the Cycle" and the last two albums. However, after listening to it a handful of times, I have found myself truly loving this album. It is difficult to realize that different is not always a bad thing. Aaron Lewis is still the best lead man out there in my book, and always will be. So everyone just calm down and rate this CD on its own merit. If you stop comparing it to their previous work and just take it for what it is, then the ratings would go up. This is not 1999 anymore, so let's move on and enjoy the new music Staind has made.
Also, if I am not mistaken, this is the last record they will make with their current label. I think ... Read More:
