There's a serious mastering or manufacturing problem with the Byrds - Live at the Royal Albert Hall 1971 CD, at least with the first edition issued in mid 2008.
I've now had two copies of this CD, and both have had severe skipping problems during track 19, "Amazing Grace," starting at about 1:20. The problem starts with digital "clicking" and progresses into bad skipping, with the elapsed time actually stopping at one point. Both CDs I've tried have had exactly the same problem, so it's clearly a mastering or manufacturing, and not simply a defective individual CD.
I'm now going to return my second CD and request a refund rather than another replacement copy.
This is a real shame, because the music ... Read More:

I've seen zz Top 2 times live, in the 70's, & listened to their music all my life. This dvd is long overdue for zz Top fans. Don't even think about it twice, buy it. Except go to Walmart, I bought it there for $10. Best deal I ever got at Walmarts. Seriously it is a great concert, these guys prove why U try to keep all your band members in the band forever.

I really enjoyed Maroon 5's debut and the diversity of the songs and, of course, Adam's voice is to die for. When "Makes Me Wonder" came out, it was a very fun song and sound for them. When I bought the release, though, I was disappointed that the diversity was thrown out the window for songs that all sounded the same to me. Not to mention this CD is so overly produced it makes me want to barf. Just not my cup of tea. I find the songs to be weak, bland, over-produced, and unoriginal. I didn't mind "Wake Up Call", but it got old to me fast. "Won't Go Home Without You" is alright, but again - very bland pop. "Goodnight Goodnight" is alright, but the lyrics are so cheesy. The only other song I don't mind listening to repeatedly, aside from "Makes Me Wonder" ... Read More:

This is a wonderful CD/DVD! A must for a family with small children. It is so neat to hear our toddler singing about "go, go , go for G" and other silly ABC tunes. Worth every penny.

I found these guys after hearing "Not My Name" on the Tulane college radio station in New Orleans. I bought the album immediately and I listened to it in the car home to Houston 4 times yesterday. I don't know anything about these guys and reviews have not always been good, but I love this album and highly recommend it.
A couple of song reviews:
Not My Name - Awesome song. Sounds like a mash up of Dixie Cups (not Chicks), Yo La Tengo and Luscious Jackson. This song is a 5 minute pop gem. A tiny little manifesto. A crazy mish-mash in all the best ways. Plus I already danced my butt off to it in my living room.
Shut Up and Let me Go - Very reminiscent of "Birthday Cake" from Viva La Woman. (An awesome album, BTW) I have to guess the ... Read More:

This is the most solid N.E.R.D. platter yet, though they still haven't combined their two primary interests (as N.E.R.D. that is) into a single sound. This album is split into two halves, with the first delivering the best electronic funky crunk that that the crew has dropped yet. "Everyone Nose..." and "Spaz" are lowdown and powerful, and dig the extra nasty "Anti Matter." But the second half of the album is made up of the other N.E.R.D. obsession, the organic early 70s soul/funk/rock that Lenny Kravitz has already spent two decades retro-ing to death. These songs require a level of songwriting and musicianship that are not among N.E.R.D.'s greatest strengths. True, the songwriting is better here than on the dreary Fly or Die, but the musicianship leaves something to be ... Read More:

With "Rubber Soul", the Beatles started maturing as artists and moving away from "mere" teen pop, but it was with "Revolver" that they hit their peak. Certainly the albums that came later were perhaps even more ambitious and got more press and, yes, hype. Nevertheless if I have to choose a favorite Beatles album, it would be "Revolver". I've had this album for a long time (in LP format), and it's been one of my favorites. Almost by coincidence I was recently exposed to this album again after many years. I'm happy to say that this one absolutely stands the test of time. It's now on heavy rotation in my stereo.
Originally on LP the US and UK releases of the Beatles allbums up to and including this one were different. I the case of "Revolver" the difference was that ... Read More:
