Jimmy Sturr is the Polka King. This ten time grammy winner should have number 11 with Polkapalooza. Cuts I like include Miles of Smiles, Oh Suzannah and a great version of the Pennsylvania polka. His music will definately get your feet moving.

This recording was made in 1983 and 1984, right about the start of Frankie Yankovic's second heyday. The first three tracks are neither polkas nor polka-style waltzes; instead, they are slower tunes in which Frankie recalls his own (and others') past. In fact, there are only three Yankovic-style polkas on this CD, all of which were recorded again on the even-better Songs of the Polka King, volumes 1 and 2, in the late 90s. The best tracks are the four polka-style waltzes, including Goodbye Sarajevo, which is omitted from the jacket (it's squeezed in between tracks 6 and 7, so that there are 11 tracks altogether rather than 10). I'd have to say that my favorite group here is The Gigolos with Joe Abbate on accordian. This would make a great gift for a grandparent. This is for the true Collinwood/Clevelander.
