Brave Combo is a surprising, and delightful band that exudes energy and fun. Their music is fast, and instills a level of enthusiasm in me that just can't be beat. This album is one of their best (it's certainly the best I've heard, but they've got so many, I don't want to exclude the possibility that one of them is better).

If you like to dance and you like enthusiastic, high energy music, this CD is for you. (Who would have ever dreamed of putting Purple Haze to a polka beat, if not for Brave Combo). If you are already a polka fan, this CD may not be for you, as it is not your standard polka fare. It would fit more into a rock/folk/latin/polka section than a straight up polka group.

This CD features what might be called elevator polka music. It would be good Muzak in an office full of polka lovers. An electronic organ by itself just doesn't cut it, even though today's instruments are a far cry from those played in the 50s by Ken Griffin. A real bass fiddle should replace the organ pedals, with perhaps a trumpet and some vocals added as well. Listening to any of these tracks reminds me of the "real" versions I have heard by other artists, even when there have been several "real" versions which have not reminded me of each other. As ususal the Lawrence Welk Orchestra is AWESOME. The musical arrangements are magnificent. The songs that really carry this CD are A FINE ROMANCE which is silky, ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE, FASCINATION, THE SONG IS YOU and MELODY OF LOVE which all have some heavy orchestrations backed by a superb BRASS SECTION. BLUE VELVET is a great smooth song. SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES is my favourite song on this CD and it is the best arranged version that I have ever heard in my life. This CD is a must for MUSIC LOVERS and it is really CHAMPAGNE and ROMANCE.

I'm one who's into all types of music, but if you're like me and enjoy fun, maybe, at times, silly sounding stuff, do check it out. The only song that I listen to over and over is "Somewhere My Love." The five bucks is worth it.
