I'm not sure where they dug these versions up, but they are not the original versions in any case, not even for the Challengers' own material. Look further if you want surf music. These are pretty mild-mannered. Muzak, really.

I'm not saying some of these are not potentially interesting in one way or another to somebody. The sax on K-39 (not original) was OK. And I assume some some later edition of the long-lived very commercial Challengers recorded them. But teenagers never exulted to these sounds voluntarily. Even people who used to be teenagers would find them rather dull.

It was great to see this. We lived in Hawaii for almost 10 years and were accepted by the locals. We love the humor that Rap shares in this video. It's almost like being there again.

This album is really great, compiling both slow and fast songs, traditional and new compositions, all in the unique Cazimero style. Add in the fact that most of these songs aren't avalible on CD yet, and this becomes a must buy! A great disc overall! In particular, I love "Kai Wai Lehua 'A'ala Ka Honua", "Na'Ale o Ni'ihau" and my all time favorite, "Makee Ailana". Can't wait for Volume 4!

I bought this album (along with "Tahiti Kaina Party", see my review) for a luau we hosted in our backyard. Although this album does have terrific upbeat songs with vocals, I bought it mainly for the songs (half of them) that were strictly percussion. The drums are strong and intense - we and our guests loved it! We played these percussion songs along with the more traditional ukulele and string guitar island-type music for a perfect blend of luau sounds.

Words can not say how I have enjoyed this DVD. I felt just like I was back in Hawaii watching not only the Brothers but the other wonderful talent of the islands. I have watched this time and time again and will continue to watch it.

We have more then once met the brothers in person when we have seen them preform at a restaurant in Waikiki. Their talent can not be matched. Mellow voices. I never tire of hearing their voices. And this DVD offers so much more.

If you want to feel you are in the islands and are looking for a wonderful Hawaiian evening of entertainment, you are in for a fantastic treat. You will never be sorry you purchased this DVD. It would also make a wonderful gift.

I have always loved the beautiful and exotic music from both Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman. And while I do have ALL of Arthur Lyman's albums [on vinyl] I recommend this CD, which is a 'best of' compilation: Titled as his 'greatest hits.' And it is the very best of Arthur Lyman's music to date on just one CD. I purchased a different one several years ago when all of my stuff was in storage [I was in the mood for that exotic sound] and the CD was not a very good one. This one is, and is highly recommended.

I grew up listening to these beautiful sounds of Arthur Lyman, due to the fact that my mother and father used to play this music quite often. And whenever I hear Arthur Lyman's music; it magically transports me back to my childhood. One of my favorites ... Read More:

Just another great gunfighter ballad record,nothing special,nothing spectacular,just great coming from that smooth,tenor,baritone voice of Marty Robbins.Hear Martys smooth natural delivery on the very short,but effective,The Wind Goes,or the tell a story of life on the range,Cry Stampede,and the fatal,Cottonwood Tree.Marty Robbins never ceases to amaze me with every listen,always painting a picture in my mind of the old west.The Drifter is not the best of the gunfighter ballads,however,a must if you own the others.
