I absolutely love this piece, and this (the original) is an excellent recording of it. Upshaw expresses the feeling of the music so wonderfully. I first heard this in concert with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and they had a video of the view from a helicopter or airplane flying along a beach. This music expresses the same peace and beauty and poignancy (for me at least) of dawn at the beach.

I absolutely love this album - the choice of arias is simply superb and tasteful. Villazon has poured out his heart into these songs, and it really represent a milestone in the stellar career of this young tenor.
Even so, I sincerely hope that he will fully recover from his general physical breakdown, and recap his vocal prowess with a redirected vision.
Not being unduely harsh, I have strong reservations for young Rolando assuming spinto roles. Listen to his aria from Simon Boccanegra. The technique is flawless. However, the timbre is not as dramatic as the typical Verdian tenor. He excels much better in Donizetti and the bel canto roles.
Nor do I think that JDF is the only tenor that excels at bel canto. Villazon is another superb bel ... Read More:

Pavarotti's Greatest Hits

For someone who is already a student of opera, this dual set will probably be somewhat redundant. However, if you are curious about opera in general or are unfamiliar with Pavarotti's recordings, this is an excellent anthology. I bought it as two cassettes some 20 years ago and wore it out, beginning a life-long love affair with opera. Use it to familiarize yourself with the songs and arias represented here, then explore the complete operas and/or song albums that these came from.

Even though it's from a few years ago, the voices are outstanding and

If you like this type of modern music presented in a unique style with some excellent voices give this a try. the style is not to everyones tast, I'm hooked and my usual preference for music is more like linkin park and evanescence. But i love this in heavy traffic on the way home, it keeps down the road rage without having to listen to archaic religious latin verse.

Libera continues to put out great music. Though the music is basically the same type of music as their other CD's. This CD has a slightly different feel to it in my opinion. Their music is part ethereal and part just plain fun. They sound like they enjoy singing together and being part of Libera. It would be great to be able to see them live in concert to see that joy and enthusiasm that they put into their singing on the CD's. Anyone who is a fan of boy treble singers and boy's choirs should buy this CD.
