It's really difficult to overrate 1966's "Pet Sounds". Aside from its influence on other musicians ("God Only Knows" spurred on Paul McCartney, for example, in the game of one-upmanship between the Beatles and the Beach Boys during the late '60s), it remains, quite simply, one of the most enjoyable pop albums ever released--like your favorite cold beverage on a very hot day. Even the two instrumentals, "Let's Go Away For Awhile" and "Pet Sounds", fit into the sequencing perfectly. A must-have for any Beatles' fan! George Martin (original producer extraordinaire for the Beatles) and his son Giles have produced an exquisitely mastered product. Highly suggest this double version: CD plus the Audio DVD. Costs MUCH more if you buy it at the actual show at The Mirage in Las Vegas. We purchased this, then went to see the show (which, by the way, has the longest contract EVER for a resident show--ten years!--and we HIGHLY recommend it . . . a true feast for the eyes, ears, and all your senses!), and listened to it while we drove back home. Buy it . . . you won't regret it! Even if you have, like we do, all the original recordings. These newly mastered songs are fabulous!!

Very good reproduction of the original masters. I enjoy it over and over because I liked the movie and the music of that era. The actress deserved the Oscar I think. Todays musiic does seem like music to an old timer.

Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66's hits are pretty much included in this CD. What a wonderful beat and what memories. I highly recommend this CD to anyone wanting a good selection of his early hits. I found all the ones I loved on this CD plus a couple of others that were a joy to discover.

Anthology 2 is worth every penny, especially because of the wonderful "Real Love" and hilarious "You Know My Name," though I prefer the final version on the B side of "Let It Be." Am I the only one who appreciates the incredible Lennon and McCartney vocals in the beginning of the latter? Singing near the top of their ranges, they have an otherworldly quality that is unmatched in pop music. They don't even sound human! Lennon and McCartney were truly a match made in Heaven.

Since some of the Hollies have moved on to successful careers with other bands, this group's contributions to pop music have been short-changed. They were just brilliant. This collection is highly recommended. I really wish they would get back together. This is a reunion tour I would pay big money to see.

Although i'm far from an audiophile, more than half of the songs on this CD don't even sound like Nat King Cole! I had several of his record albums and they were much better. Overall, I'm very disappointed.
