This is an outstanding 5 star concert dvd. It has a song set of 18 songs.
There are many allstar collabarating musicians throughout this concert dvd. These include: Tom Jones, Soloman Burke, Norah Jones, Buddy Guy, Chris Isaak, Ron Wood, Mergle Haggart, Ivan Neville, Kris Kristofferson, John Fogerty, Willie Nelson, Don Henley, Kid Rock, and Ken Lovelace. The performances are outstanding! Overall, this is good boogie-woogie Jam music and very enjoyable to kick-back and enjoy for a couple of hours.The "Killer" does his classics (Great Balls of Fire, Whole Lotta Shakin' Going on, etc.) and he performs other classic songs as well. He performs several Hank William's songs.

Ah, "Face to Face." Ah, The Kinks. Where do you even begin to find the words that attempt to do justice to the music that The Kinks produced from 1966-1971? I'm more passionate about their music from this period than I am about any other, so I've just got to try.

With all due respect to the people involved with the production of this 2000 Sony release (Didier C. Deutsch, Darcy M. Proper, Danny Bennett and Steve Berkowitz), not to mention Tony himself, it's really quite impossible to come with a definitive single 20-track CD "ultimate" compilation for a man who racked up some 67 hit singles from his first in 1951 (Because Of You - # 1 for TEN weeks that summer) to his last in 1976 (As Time Goes By - # 28 Adult Contemporary early that spring). Never mind his many albums.

I am a latecomer in terms of discovering Jim Croce's music. He's hardly featured in my country. But... What a discovery? What a talented and gifted singer songwriter! Guess it must had been said countless times... but nonetheless let me add to the countless echoes of 'What a premature loss to the fans and world of music'! It has certainly been a pleasure to the senses listening to Jim Croce (and his partner Maury Muehleisen) and the lyrics especially after a hard day in the office. Such exquisite singing songwriting talent is hardly heard of nowadays. Thanks for the music, Jim.

Don't be fooled here. Friends appears twice, as it should but they are the same version. On the LP, the first version is entirely different from the version which closes the album. It is this last version that appears twice. And whatever you do, don't make the mistake of buying the mp3. They make it sound like it's your fault!!!

Pink Moon was dark as they come, but Five Leaves Left, despite others saying it is the most depressing of the three, or some other stuff, it's like an autumn morning. Or a dark night on the river. It's also longer, and features more than just the guitar. Nothing is as naked as Pink Moon, but Five Leaves Left is beautiful, and, if you have the ears, becomes apparent with the first seven seconds of The Thoughts of Mary Jane (though to me it seems about drugs).

Five Leaves Left takes me on a journey to the rivers, forests, star-filled sky, and sunsets (sometimes with a girl on my side, sometimes not). I had long ignored Judy Garland because I unjustly assumed she only did campy show tunes. Big mistake. Yes, she does do some obligatory Broadway hits (e.g. "That's Entertainment"); but her performance here is much more versatile than I expected. Most of my musical collection favors singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sara Vaughan, and Nina Simone, etc. but Garland is a comfortable fit.

Best example: on disk 2 she sings "Stormy Weather" - a song made big by the likes of Ethel Waters and Lena Horne - both phenomenal singers themselves - but their versions are easily dwarfed by Garland's performance of Mort Lindsey's* arrangement of this classic blues standard.
