We were in an Italian restaurant and a CD was playing. The restaurant owner told me who the singer was and as soon as I got home I looked him up on Amazan. I love the entire CD. Alot of times you can order a CD and only like a few songs but all the songs on this CD are great.

I listened to this cd prior to purchasing it for my husband. Wow, the tunes took me back to some fun times. My husband and I sang and still sing to the Everly Brothers songs on this cd. Good times, really.

This CD is a must for any person genuinely interested in music from the 1960's. The songs have not aged at all, if anything they sound as great today as when they were they were first released. This is not surprising given that Petula never failed to deliver. Petula's songs have stood the test of time, and this often cannot be said for many singers. There is no doubt that the writing skills of Tony Hatch and his superb orchestra contributed greatly to the success of Petula, but at the end of the day they were a perfect match. I had long ignored Judy Garland because I unjustly assumed she only did campy show tunes. Big mistake. Yes, she does do some obligatory Broadway hits (e.g. "That's Entertainment"); but her performance here is much more versatile than I expected. Most of my musical collection favors singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sara Vaughan, and Nina Simone, etc. but Garland is a comfortable fit.

Best example: on disk 2 she sings "Stormy Weather" - a song made big by the likes of Ethel Waters and Lena Horne - both phenomenal singers themselves - but their versions are easily dwarfed by Garland's performance of Mort Lindsey's* arrangement of this classic blues standard.
