This is one of my favorite Christmas albums. Bing's voice is so rich and warm, it can't help but put you in the mood for the holidays.

this album along with DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED was the moody blues finest work. i worked at our local school auditorium when this album came out and playing it over the halls sound system was moving. every song was clear and haunting. sitting in the balcony listing to Procession having the hall to yourself was stirring. every song a masterpiece. 36 years on this album as all moody blues tunes still, stir and make grand memories. moving progressive rock

I have always been a fan of Roy Orbisons. He was so popular when I was a teen. My girlfriends and I used his songs as part of our romantic background introducing ourselves to the wonder of boys. I listen to his music, and go right back to that carefree time in life. He was a musical phenom.

This is not a good demonstration of Billie Holliday. First, too many songs squeezed into each side. Sound not good. For me, it was a waste of money. One of her best is the Billie Holiday-Lester Young CD " a musical romance"

We were in an Italian restaurant and a CD was playing. The restaurant owner told me who the singer was and as soon as I got home I looked him up on Amazan. I love the entire CD. Alot of times you can order a CD and only like a few songs but all the songs on this CD are great.

I can remember being a freshman in high-school and going to school dances in Bakersfield Ca, and occasionally going home to the OC and going to church dances with friends, and the pretty girls lining the walls or hiding in the Ladies room, but when "Smoke on the Water" would be played, they would all be desperately looking for someone to dance with as soon as the first bar of the song was played.

Adolescent boy's prayers were answered.

This is still the favorite Deep Purple album for most of my friends 36 years gone by now!

Like Jesus, Nick Drake is a "resurrected musician" with terrific guitar sensibility who unfortunately died while young in the early 70s, perhaps of a drug overdose, perhaps suicide (it's unclear.) He was re-discovered, posthumously, by an advertising person who played his music in an excellent Volkswagen ad. While Drake has a wonderful gift for creating beautiful guitar sounds through open-tunings and off-beat tempos, his writing is lackluster and imagistic and often melancholy, somewhat blurry. His singing voice is high-pitched, unusual, with overtones of American Indian religious chanting. So Drake is on the verge of singer-songwriter excellence, in my view, but not quite there.
