This collection of NWA's raps is awesome. NWA introduced the world to gangsta rap, with their brutally straightforward storytelling about life on the mean streets of South Central and the dysfunctional lives of some of the people who live there. These guys were awesome as a crew while they lasted. I first heard Straight Outta Compton in 1989 and can STILL sing some of the songs from there in my head almost verbatim. Now that's impact for you. The hits I remember from that CD are there and a bunch of stuff I guess from Niggaz 4 Life [I never owned that one]. The raps are interspersed with cuts from live stage acts and some commentary from the rappers. All in all, it works very well. This CD is definitely worth having for any fan of hard ... Read More:

This is obviously a collection most will buy for the videos. While the most casual fans will be happy with simply the biggest hits, the DVD will appeal to the fanatics. So, I guess there's something for everyone here. This reminds me of the recent Red Hot Chili Peppers "Greatest Hits" with DVD, meaning music and videos, but only the basics. Still, the songs are classic, and who does video better than the Beasties? Remember the "Fight For Your Right To Party" video, or how about the awesome "Hey Ladies" and "Intergalactic"? Not to mention the 70's cop spoof "Sabotage". This might not be as great as the "Sounds Of Science" anthology song-wise, but with the added videos, it's "Solid Gold".

Yet Run-DMC had turmoil and was knocked off the charts by West Coast greats N.W.A.,Too-short,and Ice-T,they would a comeback during the New Jack era in 1990 with the heavy New Jack Hit "Pause",one the greatest songs on the album. So if your looking for some New Jack Swing from Run-DMC,I suggest Back From Hell.

"you're the best around" changed the face of civilization as we know it, if it wasn't for that All Valley Tournament montage i probably wouldn't have the will to live, and that says something, because i'm a successful business man now that gets a fair share of the ladies, i'd hate to toot my own horn, but it really is amazing. do yourself a favor and get the entire Joe Espo. catalog before you consider this failure of a compilation.
