Man, this CD brings back more memories (tied with Run DMC's first two releases, and Whodini's Back In Black) than any tape, album, CD I have ever listened to. Except for Fairytale Lover, this CD has been played atleast 100 times by me and my family. Oh man, talkin' about this almost brings a tear to my eye. These cats had a monster flow, and even though it is outdated, you can tell that Educated Rapper and Kangol Kid were monsters on the mic throughout most of this joint.

I was at a record store a while ago, and came accross this '93 release in the recent arrival bin. I'd never heard a song off this beforehand, but Kane is one of my favorite MC's of all time, and his first two albums get constant play in my stereo. I decided to get this anyway, and I'm not dissapointed.

His first two albums are beyond classic in the Hip Hop world, and his third wasn't bad, but it wasn't on the highest level. His fourth wasn't horrible, but to this day, I'll say it's the worst album he's released in his career. On this album (his 5th) he clearly resurfaced. Funkmaster Flex has had the reputation of laying down some banging beats for hip hop's top stars to freestyle over. But on Vol. 3 there's not enough good beats or good songs to make this album satifying. There are lots of missteps on here, Mariah Carey over Mobb Deep's Shook Ones Pt. 2 beat, Missy Elliot's freestyle over Wu-Tang's Triumph completely ruins the beat, DMX's freestyle ruins the Give up the Goods beat by Mobb Deep. Ice Cube doesn't even drop a verse on the Mack 10 freestyle, he just talks in the beginning of the freestyle. Funkmaster Flex gathered all of these big hip hop stars and didn't milk them for his worth, he also cuts [bad] hip hop and r&b songs together in between. I have been looking for this CD for 7 years. I had the CD but had a fire and everything was destroyed. I remember playing this CD over and over and over until I learned all the words to the song knowledge is king. This CD is is not only old school rap but and inspiration to all people no matter what race, color or creed. This Cd is wonderful and everyone all ages should listen, retain and study and apply it to everyday life and it's situation(s). This is the very best CD.
