Into the underworld of yesteryear we go. Set to some nice background music, LR raps a tight game. With the production value high, with nice atmospheric background noises that you would've heard in a fine radio show, its a great touch that makes the record come alive in your imagination. So does LR's voice characterizations.

Luckily this is basically about two dudes who hustle the pool room and the card table to make their cash and not about runnin' hoes. This is pure listening fun, with a moral twist at the end. No one, then or now, would like to emulate the journey laid out in this cautionary tale.

This album captures the feeling and emotions I had experienced during the 60's and 70's, during the civil rights movement and the Viet Nam War. The youth of today think that "Rap" started with Run, D, and MC and don't know who the Last Poets are. I am glad that their innovations have been captured on CD

Surprised no one has reviewed this album yet because it is smokin'. I'm not a popular-music historian so I'll spare the attempt at discussing a musical version of the Origin of Species; everything is derivative so why bother. So since everything is derivative, it is helpful to discuss when something really interesting breaks through. Of course, I thought Luscious Jackson was interesting when I first heard it. And then I heard ESG for the first time -- yes, I'm from the midwest, whattya want me to do about it?
It begs the question why it takes so long to be exposed to foundational popular music, but when you find something for yourself for the first time it doesn't matter how long it took, you're just glad to have discovered it. Is this album that ... Read More:

This EP is one of N.W.a's high points proving they were going to on without Ice Cube and even stronger without him and in my opinion is there second best piece of work next to S.O.C Here is a quick rundown:

100 Miles and Runnin-10/10 Like Straight Outta compton a very forceful entry and surprising beat

Just Dont bite It- 8.5-9/10 Preety funny but kinda a let down after such a forceful entry song

Sa Prize-10/10 This was just amazing best part of the CD great beat

Real Niggaz-9.5/10 Real good beat and good lyric delivery especially M.C Ren

Kumorshal-I wont really count this do to it is just a advertisment for Niggaz4Life but the beat is really good

I just purchased a sealed copy of this disc, and while the inserts appear to be professionally printed, the disc itself is a CD-R. While I don't disagree with the five-star reviews in regard to the music, I am giving this three stars due to the cheap production. Also, one of the main reasons for my purchase was to find a non-vinyl source for "Rockin' It" by Fearless Four. Unfortunately, this is yet another disc that has dubbed this song from vinyl. (It is also dubbed from a record on Tommy Boy's Hip Hop Essentials Vol. 1 and Awesome 2 Present The History Of Rap Vol. 1.)
