When I first heard her first hit single "you oughta know", I simply fell in love with Alanis Morissette's voice, and I knew I had to go straight to the mall and buy her cd Jagged Little Pill...
Well the rest is history! It was the best cd of the 1990's, and the songs still hoard most radio stations daily.
When I saw this cd out at Walmart, I was very, very excited, and couldn't wait to buy & hear it. It was nothing short of AMAZING! Alanis has a voice like no other!!! She sings perfectly, and every song is full of incredible sound, smoothness & heart on this cd!
I am lucky enough to have a superb stereo/surround set up, so I am able to listen to this cd with crystal clear sound, and distinct effects(Klipsch speakers)! ... Read More:

Here Is What Is

Daniel Lanois is very original in everything he does and this CD is no exception. I purchased the CD without knowing there is an accompanying DVD and I want to get the DVD too.

I like this CD start to finish but highlights for me are "Here is What Is", "Beauty" - the speaking interlude, "Harry", "I like That", "Duo Glide" and "Moondog".

Someone mentioned the speaking interludes can be annoying but for me I didn't find that. It seems anything that adds to the creative process, Lanois will do.

If you are a Lanois fan at all, I think you will enjoy this CD. I know I do.

Hello Love is a great little album period. Call it Ameicana,alternative folk,bluegrass...whatever you like,just buy it. You won't be disappointed. All the songs have great merit. Song for R is so time approprite,it is scary,with our current drug culture bein what it is.Most of the songs are upbeatexcept for acouple that are'nt supposed to be.Scattered Leaves is beautiful...AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING IN HEAVEN is so hauntingly beautiful it makes me feel so warm yet soulful and sad at the same time it's..........Just buy it, you will love it..I promise .

I think Starfield has one of the best vocalists ever. I loved their other two releases, too. I happen to like the "calmer" songs better than the ones with more of a edge. I was afraid this new album would be too rock, but a few songs (Reign in Us, Remain, Hiding Place) sound just like the Starfield I know and love. So glad I bought it.

The concept of this CD, produced by Brooks Arthur is a commendable one. He knows lots of folks in show business who are Jewish and decided that newly recorded versions of "Jewish" songs would be great. All but one of the 13 tracks on this (somewhat short at 44-minute length) were recorded in 2006 and 2007 by the artists. The lone "oldie" is "Avinu Malkeinu" by Barbra Streisand, which comes from her 1997 "Higher Ground" album.

The CD starts off great with The Manhattan Transfer performing a great swing version of "Utt Da Say" about a tailor making a dress. It had me tapping my feet immediately. I have a few zydeco CD's, and this one is far and away my favorite. Hardly a song in the bunch that I can't enjoy again and again.

If you are familiar with zydeco music, you can read Amazon's song list above and there's no need for me to rehash it. If you're not familiar, then no need for a song by song description either, but I'll simply describe zydeco as "happy music" (there are blues tunes in the mix) with cajun roots in the rural Louisiana swamplands. It's from the heart and has a definite rock flavor. (It is not brassy New Orleans rhythem and blues).
