Be ready to hit the skip button to get past certain songs that were inserted on the CD for some unfathomable reason. The original songs from the 80's are still good.

As I sit here listening to the Ace of Spades album I can't help but say a few words even though another positive review of this classic album isn't at all necessary.
You've undoubtedly heard of this album, own it or at least have heard the title track. Ace of Spades is the most popular and famous Motorhead album. It's their British Steel, Number of the Beast, Dark Side of the Moon, Agents of Fortune, etc, etc. And like those albums, it's very strong and very solid. It's not the best album Motorhead has done, nor is it the only one someone should buy. These guys continue to put out great stuff(look no further than 2004's Inferno for that).
One of the best qualities of Motorhead is that there is no B.S. with these guys. They achieved ... Read More:

I find this album to be a better album than their first one with a more focused sound, expanding on their craft and putting them in par with Joy Division and Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights therefore making a case for continuing their style and not changing a thing just because some might say that they are not unique but then I would say why does that matter if it is great.

I believe I have listened to this album more than any other in my collection. Powerful, angry, just incredible. I literally wore out the tape. It never gets boring!

I had this on vinyl back in the day, but my other DL records were on so much they pretty much eclipsed this one as far as spin time. I just bought it last week again on CD and am really enjoying it. I think it's much better than just a decent debut by an up and coming band, or an interesting look at DL before they hit the sound they would run with. Anyone who heard this at the time it came out would have to have realized this band was going no where but up, up, up.
In fact if this album had gotten the production it deserved DL could have gotten an even earlier launch. As it happened though, hearing just this single debut album made John "Mutt" Lange to realize that DL was a band worth working with. He had produced both Highway to Hell and Back in Black, for ... Beginning life as an off-shoot from Talking Heads while David Byrne worked on a solo project, Tom Tom Club has endured for over twenty-five years on and off, and this debut album has remained a strong seller, though its follow-up, Close To The Bone, remains mysteriously unavailable.
Thanks to the electroclash movement Tom Tom Club sounds more contemporary now than it did a decade ago, and many of its hooks and beats have been sampled over and over. The best known tracks are the singles Genius Of Love and Wordy Rappinghood, though as they were initially signed by Chris Blackwell to the British Island label, Wordy Rappinghood was not released as a single in America at the time. It was a huge hit in Europe, though, and was revived not long ago by Chicks On Speed. ... Read More:

They are always great. Yaz(oo)are coming from 80ies; but they are fresh and rich.
Take them twice a day; at the evening and night.
Listen to ("half of them") Moyet even more; maybe ten times a day.
Or, as more as you could do.

This album was released in 1986 and for me it's their second best album. Three songs were released as singles: "A Question of Lust", "A Question of Time", and "Stripped". Those three are definitely highlights but in this case as with every DM album I think there is so much more to their albums than just the singles.
This is the album that has, I believe, the most songs sung by Martin Gore: "Sometimes" is a short memorable piano ballad, then there's "It Doesn't Matter Part II" which is the amazing sequel to the song from the previous album "Some Great Reward" although is musically very different. "World Full Of Nothing" is yet another excellent ballad and finally "A Question Of Lust" is the one they chose for single release.
Let's not forget Gahan's singing. He shows ... Read More:
