I first heard of this cd when it was first advertised on tv in the 90's but honestly thought nothing of buying it. However in 2001 I happened to spot this cd when I was stationed in Japan and am happy to have spent my money on this cd. Due to the variety of the songs I feel that this cd is good to listen to at work , when you are spending time with your loved ones, and relaxing and nurturing yourself when you are alone. Some of the notable tracks that really stand out in a positive way for me are

"orinoco flow" by enya
"sweet lullaby" by deep forest
"tubular bells" by mike oldfield
"sadeness" by enigma

Lovely music. Nice Indian flavor yet contemporary. Dreamy. Great addition to have Sting accompany on the one track. Ravi gets it going fast on his tracks. Love Karsh Kale on this.

Another quality release as the band coasted through their medieval stride produced an excellent starting point for the curious, offering the many different undervalued styles this singer and guitarist sought out to a polished tee. In this impressive sampler overview of the dark renaissance revivalists, parts seem to outweigh the whole. Individual tracks never feel shoddy or tacked on, but as a whole, Dead Can Dance provide a few too many profound filler tracks that do little to propel the album. As usual, the mark of talent and originality highlight nearly everything, even if that distinct mark was starting to become a little transparent and predictable.

I first listened to Méhdi when my mother bought it. I always loved it because it was so smooth, gentle, relaxing, and yet some songs were just exciting and overall they just seemed to give a taste of the exotic. Each song is different from the other, but just as good as what comes before and after.If you feel like something relaxing and different, this CD is for you.

I bought this CD because of all the rave reviews I read about it. The other people must have been a bit more earthy-crunchy than I am. I found all the wind instruments a bit boring. I think I like to hear a little more piano or something... I love the baby Mozart CD but I thought my baby needed a change every once in a while. Thats why I bought this one. It's ok....

I really like this cd compared to most of the run of the mill Native american flute music that is out there...this is much more varied, and not nearly as boring as listening to a full album of flute music, ...I mean I like meatloaf, but not every night. good music, well done, glad I got it.
