I play this in my massage practice. This CD is amazing and transports you where your mind takes you. People LOVE this CD and I get many requests for where to buy it, what the name of it is, etc. This is definitely a favorite and is highly recommended.

Not that any of these lyrics are hard to write. I just think that the way he lets his heart rest on his sleeve is nice. Everyone seems to do it these days but for me it never really gets old.
Anyway, I heard this song for the first time today and it's alright. The rhythm; the way he sings it is the best part of the song.
And then the 'hiding from his tears in the rain' and admitting that his 'emotions are out of his control' got me to like the song. enough.
but i still don't think it's great. it's not mindless but it's nothing new either. but if i had to take it or leave it...
i'd take it.
3.3 stars.
end note: i'll be watching for his next single. and i'm so ... Read More:

I have been listening to the sample clips of this CD, and ordered it from amazon within 2 minutes! This music is simply intoxicating!...its a clever and highly creative arrangement of music,by some of the most musically gifted people on the planet.

Can, while not as bizarre as a few of their contemporaries, Faust comes to mind - put together some astonishingly good rock with their talented Japanese lyrical improviser Damo Suzuki.
My favorite piece is "Oh Yeah" which opens with the sound of a thunderstorm, and the growing rhythm of the drums with organ overlay. The song is a rather long one, and goes through 3 shifts in sound, and subtle tensions. There's also a very fun video of it in YouTube replete with vaudeville style juggler.
the later part of the album has some more of the throbbing "experimental" aspects to it, with delayed instruments, and heavily distorted vocal bits. IT's very hypnotic and for some may be a bit unnerving.

I played this for my children when they were babies. This is what they listened to as they went down for naps and bedtime. The lullabies are rhythmic and soothing. They loved them and I really think it helped them get to sleep.
Release Date February 23, 1993
I love the easy flow and ambience of the fine playing here. Never has Cooder sounded better to my ear than on this one. And Bhatt is magnificent. I've been listening to this session for over ten years and still have it close, ready-to-hand, in my truck console.

As an experienced meditator, I recommend this CD for both beginner and advanced meditation practice. Halpern's layer upon layer upon layer of deep reverberating "oooommmm" is very soothing and easy to respond to, whether you join in with your own voice or simply listen to the voices on the CD. This CD has become one of my favorites as of the second time I turned it on.

This is a pleasant CD and would be a worthy addition to your collection. I also bought Thursday Afternoon, and think that it is even better. Sometimes this CD is just the right thing. Recommended.

Wow, this artfully designed musical collection truly does what it says - the psychoacoustics technic really works! Carefully selected classical pieces and soft instrumentation make this an absolute delight to listen to.
However, what I originally purchased this for was to have some relaxing ambient background music to play while I'm working - and this definitely does NOT work - it's too relaxing! The songs are specifically ordered to be gradually slower and softer, and I can't get through half the songs before I want to take a nap. So for daytime ambience, I don't recommend it. If you're looking for a late-night wind-down or a cure for insomnia, I could not recommend it more highly. You'll be ready for sweet dreams in snoozeville by track 11, no drugs ... Read More:
