Michael Hedges was a truly extraordinary player. He also personified New Age-y-ness in a good, real, and human way. If you put aside the stereotype, he was really working to live a good life in the way that he wanted to. I saw him play several times in Nashville and then in California, in the early 1990s. When he came to Stanford and played with Michael Manring, it was one of the best concerts of my life. He was in a great mood, energized, and absolutely blew the crowd away. I really liked the first CD (intro) which explains the mind body connection and how important meditation and guided imagery is. This is a good meditation and I listen to it on my Ipod while travelling or any other time that I feel stressed.

One of the best CDs I have.This CD reminds me of the morning prayer chants at my Boarding school in Rajghat.I never wanted to sing it when I was young.Now,I absolutely love it."Om poornamidah.." is my favourite.

This CD is so beautiful--I would be happy to own it even if I didn't have children. We have 5 month old twins so it's too early for us to know if they like the cd, but I'll be surprised if they don't. I even gave it to another friend as a gift.

I'll just add my voice to the choir, here, letting you all know that this is a particularly fine and exceptionally listenable album, that just gets better with replays. I like George Winston, but don't particularly seek him out. This album came as a gift from one of my sisters awhile back, so thank you, Con, for such a fine and thoughtful present!

I keep PLAINS in the car, for bad-radio times, and for stressful moments. It holds up remarkably well to repeated listening. Even my wife, who's normally allergic to anything remotely New-Agey, likes PLAINS a lot. Easy listening, without the negative connotations. Highly recommended.

A friend of mine told me about Brickman because I had never heard of him but once I listened to some of his music I can honestly say that she was right because his music is mellow, soothing and quite good.
