There is something inherently prosaic in this dead dull "music of der future". Fortunately, man has still some sense of individualism, but barely, and Kraftwerk's fascist goal for music has not rendered vocals obsolete. Listening to this, it harkens back to the techno geek 1970's when Germans laden in neo-fascist uniforms with thin ties and a pound of grease on their hair, showed no emotion on stage, acting like machines. Most of them wore leather pants so tight that they froze while playing, hence the dumb and inarticulate Krautbot look. They copied architecture chic from the 1930's, added some 70's porn montage and called it "modern" 1970's and praised the revolution of robots and computers. I've posted comments elsewhere on this series of reviews. It seems the defenders of Ms. King's cd are a little defensive, as are the ones who didn't care for her music. I have to admit, I was excited by the idea that a new acoustic monster had put a cd out. I listened to the samples in the store, and was "wow'ed" by her varied and aggressive style of guitar playing. The employee had pointed her cd out to me, and he too, made reference to M. Hedges guitar style. Like a herd of lemmings, I walked out of the store with the cd in hand, looking forward to listening through it.

10 to 15 mins of listening and I'm out cold for the rest of the night. I hit the repeat button and don't wake up until the alarm clock goes off. I have trouble staying asleep for more than two hours at a time and when I listen to this I have no problems. The delta waves in the background really help with winding my mind down.

I had no idea Alex P. and crew had a new one out, and I grabbed this on a whim based on the beautiful art work and the fact this is the Orb we're talking about here. As with a good many Orb releases (and there are many), this one is a long player and like a good meal, took a while to digest. After the somewhat boring Kompakt release (unless you like the sparser, minimal techno sound), I wasn't sure what to expect. It really sunk in after about three listens and now I find myself going back to certain tracks over and over again. One of them, the stand out in my opinion, is track six, called "the truth is...", which is one of the most moving, gorgeous vocal tracks the orb has ever crafted since Cydonia's "Once More". This was my first Ray Lynch CD and it will not be my last. I first heard of Lynch on Stephen Hill's Hearts of Space radio program. I've only had the album for several months, but it's already become one of my favorite. It's best enjoyed on a sunny morning over a hot cup of coffee. You will not be disappointed with this album if you are a true new age/cosmic music fan!

I had first heard of Peggy Cappy on PBS where her Yoga for the Rest of Us DVD was being sold, so I looked into that on Amazon.com and found this CD. I have difficulty falling asleep, usually due to the inability to "turn off" my thinking. I figured I'd see if this CD would help, and I have used the CD every night since, for about the past two weeks. The 1st track is a welcome message, the 2nd gives instructions on preparing yourself to relax, the 3rd walks you through achieving relaxation, then at the end pulls you out (if you haven't fallen asleep!), and the 4th relaxes you to a full sleep. then around 10 years later, they were in music stores for a bit with this album/tape..lol....I'm so glad to find it again!!!...it has always moved my soul
