Back in 1973, people bought two albums, Pink Floyd's DSOTM and Mike Oldfield's Tubullar Bells.

This CD takes you to places, to sounds and feelings that no othe Tubullar Bells CD has ever been able to reproduce, as well as no other Oldfield, to that matter.

There are many versions, even the recent recreation from the man himself, however, whatever you purchase, puechase this one first, there is simply nothing comparable to it.

I would recommend this C.D., but I would say it is good to have the book that is sold separately. I have them both, and it helps clarify certain things when you have the book, and the C.D., in turn, helps you pronounce the mantras correctly. I have not listened to all the mantras on the C.D., and I focus on a particular one that I have decided to chant. Later on, through the use of the book, I will choose another mantra and listen to it on the C.D. I do use the Malas for countring my mantras (they are like rosaries, but have 108 beads instead of 54), and I got mine from e-bay.

Just has a swooshing sound similar (but by no means identical) to the ocean... with some cricket chirping sounds as well... underlying "brain sync" stuff going on as well, I suppose, nearly inaudible to the conscious brain.

Not much there in terms of anything that really jumps out at you... but I play it at work instead of music because I tend to end up listening very closely to music, which detracts my attention from my work! With this as ambient background noise, I actually am more focused on my work... not supremely focused like the CD claims: I'm not sure I buy the whole "brain sync" garbage, but this CD is good in a very unflattering way: by NOT grabbing your attention, it allows you to focus your attention on whatever else you're doing ...
