I love this album!, it's his finest! lyrics that will yank your heart out! and a voice that is warm and alive, he is telling you where and when he was born, to me, there is no finer country singer out there, I don't understand why these so called "country" stations won't play him, he is another Pat Green, Radney is a pure poet, you can't just casually listen to his lyrics, he is a Rembrandt with words, the albums that followed "Del Rio, Texas", are very good, but this is his watermark.

Pat Flynn is flat out one of the best guitar players you don't know you have heard. Since the breakup of Flynn's former band, New Grass Revival, he has worked as a studio performer. New Grass Revival was even more iconoclastic than The Mavericks. Both groups suffered from a refusal stick to accepted categories, which the music industry was not elastic enough to accept. Flynn's solo CD efforts haven't taken off, but he may be sticking too close to hearth and home and not promoting them.

Dave Pomeroy is a good guy and a great performer, also. I don't know anything about Rob Ickes, but just the fact these guys let him play with them says a lot.

Bought this CD before going to see Ricky as he played in our small town. This CD will give you a great range of his songs. All are really good if you like his Bluegrass/country style. The only thing missing with his live show (July-2006) was that he doesn't do his older country songs anymore. His shows are all bluegrass now. Not bad, but wish he would have played more than a couple from this album when he performed live.

Someone said Alan Jackson is a money grabbin' freak ya right. meet him in person and you'll have a totally different view of the man.

Anyway now on too my review. In my view this is alans best album. Everyone can almost connect to every song on this CD especially "Where Were You" and "Drive" Those too songs rocketed this album too the top of his list. You can say Alan jackson took a shot in the dark and hit a bullseye with this album. Two words too some up this album "Amazing Performance".

Heidi Newfield's new solo disc is so good that it remined me how much I loved this one when it was new! Trick Pony is infectious fun and toe tappin', I had to go back and buy a copy of this old favorite of mine.

The CD is pretty good, I have enjoyed it. I purchased this CD from Fotrecords. On the case it says "If this compact disc is cut or drilled or marked for promotional use only it is not for sale and neither the artist, songrwriters or publishers receive any compensation." The CD they sold my is cut, so illegal to sell.

This is a great compilation of the Judds' hits. They were a great mother/daugther duos. Theire voices harmonize well but are sufficiently different so that there is nice variation in the mix of pitches. The music on here is definitely country. There's a good mix of uptempo, energetic stuff and soulful songs. Particularly good songs:

These are *not* the original version of these great songs. They're still the same songs, but they just aren't the studio versions I remember listening to -- they are sort of a "light" version of those songs. Have ordered the Ultimate Collection and hope it has the versions of these great songs I was looking for.
