I loved this cd! This is Dierks at his best and this is great country music!

The thing I love best about Dierks and this cd are the lyrics; whenever I am listening to "Long Trip Alone", I feel like I can relate to the lyrics and "adapt" them to my life. Whether I want to "rest beneath your smile" or if I "might be making me a reputation of going my own way"; I can really "feel" Dierks on the cd lyrically. "Hope For Me Yet" and "As Soon As You Can" are my favorite songs on "Long Trip Alone."

I highly recommend that everyone add this to their country music cd collection.

Unlike many albums in my collection, I feel a connection with Storms of Life. When I was a kid, My mother and I listened to this album in the car. Fast forward a decade or so. I had grown up, changed music tastes (going from country to Christian music with a dash of rock, pop, and R&B thrown in) and thought Country was music one lost brain cells listening to. This all ended when I rediscovered this album in her CD collection. It showed me what country should be: truthful and pure music about common emotions that people go through such as divorce ("No Place Like Home"), infidelity ("Reasons I Cheat") and others ("The Storms of Life"). Heidi Newfield's new solo disc is so good that it remined me how much I loved this one when it was new! Trick Pony is infectious fun and toe tappin', I had to go back and buy a copy of this old favorite of mine.

If you hate typical kids music, if it really sends you around the bend, and if you have even a slight interest in roots country, alt country or bluegrass or such, you should get this disc. You can even listen to it without kids. Listen to some of the samples of course, but it's really a pretty good record.
