I first bought this CD 6 years ago for my daughter, it is a wonderful break from the regular Holiday music. Abollto is sweet and brings back past family Christmas. The Takeover Before Christmas will remind you that Christmas is for the kids not the companies. This year the CD was broken and I am buying a replacement for my daughter and myself. A great CD for families with kids or anyone else.

What a great CD! I have the first one and like this one just as much if not more (haven't heard it 100+ times yet) The CD I have is in such poor shape I decided to shop for a new one. Highly recommend.

What a mechayah! This CD is a great mix of old and new Hanukkah songs, in the form of a family home celebration that is not some tedious preachy trip. The kids joke around with each other, explain a lot of things to the adults, and vice versa, in normal conversation.

As for the songs, there's a nice rendition of the Dreydel song with FIVE VERSES (in English) that explain the meaning of each letter in the game. Plus you can learn to count to 8 in Ladio with "Ocho Candelitas." Other songs are in Hebrew and Yiddish, while their original new song, "Hanukkah at Home" is in English with an Israeli-sounding tune.

This CD is excellent and I'm glad to have it in my collection. María del Rey has a beautiful voice and the men and children reciting poetry are refreshing.

I am an educator who plans to raise my children bilingually and I find this CD to be an excellent addition to my collection of music in Spanish. As a native speaker of English who has learned Spanish to near-native ability, I am happy to have as many resources in Spanish as possible and look forward to singing and sharing these songs/rhymes (esp. the Spanish versions) with my child. While my baby has not yet arrived (he's on the way!) and I can't say what will put him to sleep, I disagree with several that have said the poetry and speaking by children and a man are disrupting. ... I bought this album for the song "A you're Adorable" and was pleasantly surprised by all of the other songs that I remember hearing as a child ("Jeepers Creepers" and "A Bushel and a Peck"). My daugher always wants me to pick her up to dance when these songs come on our playlist. This CD links today's kids to the former generations with timeless music. This would be a great nostalgic gift to/from a grandparent to enjoy with their grandchild. I don't think Maria Muldaur has the greatest voice, but it's a good voice for kids and I haven't seen too many great compilations like this on one CD. I highly recommend anyone add this to your collection.

My 4 year old son listens to this CD everynight before going to bed. He has memorized all the songs, including the ones in Zulu. It got him interested in the world map, in Africa, and in various animals like cheetahs and lions. He took note of the boy who turned into a 5-legged cat for picking on and laughing at other people.

He listens intently and sympathetically to the story/song about children who only see their fathers once a year. My son dances with joy, just as one would imagine the children in the stories, would do so upon a happy reunion, or upon receiving a precious dress or some treats that are hard to come by. We have played this CD about a zillion times in the car. Parents will have to endure Raffi and a child singing Yellow Submarine, but that's a small price worth paying. I love several of the tracks on this CD, especially Iko Iko. My kids (ages 2 and 6) love all the songs. The two year old's favorite is Little Red Caboose, but she has also learned the backup vocals for Monster Mash. My six year old's favorite is Day-O. So both parents and kids can thoroughly enjoy listening to this CD, and even belting out some of the tunes themselves.

But there is also a secret benefit, that you must not let your children in on. Although most of the songs are very lively, the last couple of tunes wind down the pace considerably. More than once, my little nap ... Read More:

I downloaded these songs and the song titles did not even match the songs. The childrens songs were cute but the adult voices which joined in ruined the few decent songs on the album. Definately not an album you would listen to more than once and some songs you will skip over within the first verse!
